Default Pokerstars terminating accounts if Old VIP / Loyalty Program info not removed asap

    Sweden Licence Information
Due to new Swedish regulations, if you are promoting any of our brands in Sweden you need to remove ALL of the following immediately:

    1. Old assets which advertise VIP and Loyalty Programs or that include gifts, Free Spins/Free Bets or Free Bet refunds.
    2. Old/new assets which advertise VIP Packages that include, for example, gifts, travel and personal cash backs.

Please ensure these are removed from your website with immediate effect. Failure to comply will result in your account being immediately terminated and your payment will be withheld.

Not just Poker Stars, I have had a few emails today about programs pulling out of the Swedish market altogeather or requiring changes due to new regulations. They all pretty much state that if you fail to remove or change content, then you may have your account closed and commissions withheld.

I am curious if the useful idiots of this forum will cheer in future again, when next countries will go under strict regulation.

if your pokerstars affiliate account gets closed... consider it a relief.
have been wasting my time on them for years, with the thought of having to present them as they are the biggest. never made serious money with them, there is no player value after all of their deductions i guess.

No surprise JokerStars is doing this. They also terminate the accounts of existing affiliates who bring in traffic, just cuz.

Stars has also changed revenue from lifetime to 2 years max.

They also attempt to threaten poker affiliates by telling them to drop "illegal" operators or they will shut down their affiliate accounts.

PokerStars is simply a rogue operator at this point IMHO.

Always stay away from FraudStars. It was a time wasting experience with them, no value of the players + when they have migrated to the new platform, what a surprise they left my players in the past ))
The only good things they are having are the big boots at the conferences and the big promises they are giving.

This describes exactly my situation. Dropped them recently with the change to their new aff program (didn't want to change the links) after promoting them for almost 10 years on a poker site with almost 0 revenue in a decade, only had them because they were the biggest operator.

I've never been a fan of the way Stars affiliate program was run, old or new. When they shafted revshare affiliates that was the end for us - and they literally are on record as saying they don't care, it made them more attractive for a sale.

However the "drop illegal operators" part is due to compliance - they have invested a lot of money to gain entrance into regulated markets, especially the USA. Other operators are doing that too - for example FanDuel and DraftKings won't let you promote DFS products if you promote offshore.

Can't blame them for protecting their licensing, honestly. We as partners are a reflection of operators themselves - any regulated brand is going to tell you to knock off the illegal offshores soon enough. Say goodbye to promoting 888, WH, BV, Bet365, Unibet - or any other world wide brand that wants to enter the US market. You can't have it both ways, and even if you are somewhat managing too right now - it will end soon, mark my words.

I've always found it weird that affiliates fully embrace UK regulated brands but then promote offshore/illegal options elsewhere.

I have always found weird that each state or geo regulation nowadays extends the jurisdiction all over the world.

People embraced UK regulated brands for those reasons (I think):

    1. it was a slicing method, when it was perfect, then good, then average, then bad and now we have nothing there. We thought the regulation will be a surplus for everyone or that at least it will not be much worse for us. Thinking that I will go from hero to zero was simply too wild.

    2. UK has different gambling history. There never were honest illegal brands. The regulations in the UK until now were very loose. In fact it is less than 10+ years when UK bookies actively lobbied for no borders in gambling. I remember crazy times when Betfred for exampe invested many millions into marketing in the East Europe. They did it so bad, they never made 1K back I guess, but yes those were the times. But then EU started to shut the doors, then UIGEA came along. Then UK bookies actually were threatened on isles by offshore, so they started with the bullshit that fructifies now.

The fanatic christians in the USA were the best for the gambling market in the USA until now. So it was the only way there to go with the illegals and it was in the end better than elsewhere.

It is not some moral principle of affiliates where they go with whom. I am just trying to maximalize my profits. That is it.

In all fairness, screw the UK regulated brands. They suck. That whole market sucks.

probably won't make a huge difference in your income anyway. i always provided them a double digit amount of ftd's per month, never made more than low 3 digit amounts. crazy to see a room like pokerstars with such low player value. can't be real.
ok, i'm going to stop my rant now, because , well, i kind of closed this chapter and felt happy with that decision.

I must admit for sports their rev share after start was much better than average. Problem is all the rest with them. **** them really.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't receive any e-mail to the effect however modified content just in case and save the hassles later. Interesting read on the comments about Pokerstars.
