With the tax rate so high they will soon realise (just like Italy) it's not as profitable as they think.

    Indeed.

Proposed rates of 8-15% on sports gross, and 15-30% on casino / poker make for poor profits or bad odds for players.

Wonder how long these tax rates keep, can't see them sticking around with it for too long - hopefully they will see the issue is the tax rate and not offering gambling.

Personally I think gambling is the least of the worries for Portugal.

AHAH i see you have some insight hehe... this is absolute bullshit, a Portuguese player assonciation wanted to take a time with the minister to discuss this, we got denied at the last moment and we never got heard... but for this to become law, the president must sign and **** must be put to work, and will take some time, plus, i dont think they will do a nice job, i already heard rummours that some Portuguese football interest groups are ganging to put their lobby at the front of the train, so they are putting their hand on an industry that works fine and will **** it up, just like it has been done on other markets like Spain.., sad ****, but on the plus side, when they realize that no money is to be made if people dont bet on nothing due to poor odds in one decade things will change im only worried because most my traffic is from Portugal and if they tax casino much then i will get a good sting on my earnings...
