The power of a citizens arrest

Walking my dog this evening I had the weirdest random thought. Kinda like the thoughts one has while on the toilet for an extended period of time. What if:

Scenario:

A police officer stops a car and after a search of the car 3 grams of pot are found. The police officer takes the pot away from the driver of the car and announces that the driver is under arrest.

The driver replied with:

" No sir, it is you who is under citizens arrest for the possession of pot. As you can see sir, I do not have any drugs on me and you do. Being in possession of drugs is illegal and you sir are going to jail. "

Well I cant help but to reply to this one.

I used to be a Platoon Sergeant for an infantry unit stationed in an Air Base. Think of the archtypical drill Sergeant! :evillaug:

Being in such a sensitive area as an air base, we were schooled in Military Police procedures and rules.

In the instance of apprehending someone posession of drugs, we were supposed to leave the drugs on the suspect while detaining him. This was done to prevent the whole "it was you not me" fiasco.

The drugs were only to be removed under the witness of another officer.

On this one, I think it would be my word against the arresting officer. Probably wouldn't work but would make the officer work a bit harder to prove his case. :rockon:
