Again, be careful about being MORE worried about the little green bar then you are about SERPS....

Each and every PR activity is Good for Google but the only crucial thing is that they all should look natural and organic. Not "look" but the should be natural! And be aware of using keyword links. Prefer direct url links like http://xxxx.com .

I also think that press releases are an excellent link building strategy, but how many high quality sites out there are happy to publish online casino related press releases?

I totally agree with you. One of the most affordable and effective gambling portal for press release posting is http://CasinoRecommender.com .

IIRC it costs $200 to do a press release through PR Web. Only if you're lucky enough to have a press release picked up, it will appear on other sites, but almost always the link isn't live on the sites that pick them up.

I think you're better off spending $200 on like 5 good articles instead, and trying to get people to accept them.

I don't know PR is still working in SEO 2021 because I've tried but got no luck at all.

Well it's ironic you mention the date and yet the date of the thread was started in 2012, during that year many of us were already stating not to be as worried about the little green bar (which still existed then) as opposed to other factors.

Although there is still "real page rank" but it is not a metric that you can see on a little green bar or with most of the pr checking tools from that time period and prior.
