Promotions on Facebook or Instagram

Hello. I've created a new page at Facebook about sports betting, but I'm struggling with promotions due to Facebook rules.

Can anyone help me or give me some tips?

I'm sorry I can't be more optimistic, but my best advice is to avoid doing it.

Facebook Ads are a nightmare. You must obtain approval before starting a campaign (which involves paperwork and weeks of waiting), and they can stop your campaigns and close your page at any time without explanation.

In my opinion, it's not worth it.

Agreed. Facebook is really annoying to work with.

I'd recommend avoiding Facebook for gambling promotions. You would be better suited to use platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, or Tumblr. Implementing hashtags on these platforms might assist in the growth of your platform. For instance, #BettingTips is an incredibly activate hashtag on Twitter.

Facebook is difficult to use in almost any industry. The platform regularly experiences technical issues causing you to start over. And god help anyone that needs to contact their support team.

Facebook is ok for branding campaigns and building name recognition, but beyond I wouldn't invest the time, effort or money.

They won't approve your ads. It is best to find a gambling friendly advertiser.

I don't think there are legit ways to run gambling promotions FB/IG, since they strictly prohibit such ads. If you insist, maybe see how others are doing it and evaluate if it is worth it. Twitter could be better for this type of thing.

you can use cloaking techniques and make better use of the account. Avoid content that violates Facebook's policies. Optimize as much as possible

You can post information about your promotions no problem. what you mean by struggling? running paid campaigns is different

For Facebook you need good content or media buying skills

I agree with that as well. Facebook can be quite frustrating for promotions.

I agree, not worth to use to much time on Facebook ads.

I completely understand your struggle with promotions on Facebook regarding sports betting. Given the platform's strict policies, it’s crucial to tread carefully. Instead of focusing solely on Facebook, you might want to explore platforms like Twitter or Instagram, where you can share insights and engage with a more receptive audience. Utilizing targeted hashtags can also help increase your reach. Building a community around your page with consistent and valuable content can go a long way, too. Good luck.

Agree with you all that FB ads will not give him good results, because Google is much better. But he can do this and run conversion campaign to get the best from FB by cloaking his links.
In this way, his ads will be approved! And with good targeting + Good creatives, he will get some good results.

If you are at risk of losing the campaign or the page because you might be breaking the terms, cloaking links will not change that you might be breaking the terms.

This will be true with FB, Instagram or any other social media.

If you want to get good traffic from Meta, you have to use Meta ads and run your ads there!

To do this you have to use conversion campaigns, and to get approved you have to cloak your links, so the FB bots can't see your real link and see safe page instead.

Cloaking is an option, but it comes with high costs and requires significant effort to maintain effectively. Given the increasing scrutiny on online betting pages, it's not always a sustainable long-term strategy.
Right now, one of the most effective ways to promote your social media is through link building—specifically, buying placements in themed articles on relevant websites.

Hey! Facebook can be really tricky with sports betting content due to their strict policies. I tried running a few ads, but they got blocked almost immediately without any clear reason. When I reached out to Facebook for clarification, they refused to unblock my account, and I ended up losing the money I had already spent. It’s frustrating!

It's a dark forest. But it still works well, in regions where online gambling is legal apply for Facebook's ‘Gambling’ special ad category. Ads should avoid misleading claims and always include responsible gambling messages to avoid being blocked.
