This one is quite appropriate for this business:

"Don't **** on my leg and tell me it's raining."

There's a couple that i like and live by:

    1. Whatever you do, moderation is the key.
    2. People don't change. They just get older.
    3. Everybody dies, but not everyone lives.

I thought about a tattoo for a year before I got it.. and then finally took the plunge. One of my girlfriends designed it and it is very scripty and says fortitudo which is the latin word for inner strength. I got it on my foot because you move forward with your feet. Very symbolic and I've had it for 3 years now and have never regretted it.

If something like that means so much to you or affects your life in some way, I don't think that will ever change. Just make sure the design and location is something that you wont regret.

I was at a pub once. There is this famous boxer who lives in the town I'm from and it was Anzac Day and so hot and everyone was dressed down. I was wearing shorts and thongs.

Anyway I felt something wet falling on my foot, figured someone was just spilling their drink on me, only to think it's going far too long to be a drink. I look down and there is this guy pissing on my foot. In the middle of the pub.

I was like "OMG, you just pissed on my foot!"
To which he replied, "No I didn't."

Anyway long story short I was carried around to find somewhere to wash my foot, ended up standing in the sink inside the mens toilets while my male friend washed my feet and the periodic "oi you shouldnt be in here" and me saying "blah blah pissed on my foot!" to me then getting him kicked out (because I know all the bouncers)..

Anyway, your saying reminded me of that so thought I'd share

This is probably gonna sound a bit silly, and the translation from norwegian is not the best, but here it goes. A couple of years ago I had a tough period with way to much stress at work and everything and I told my father in a father-to-son talk that work was about to break me. He said to me, "Never let anything break you, curve your neck like a bull, and push on!". I remember it like it was an hour ago and I think I never will forgett those words and the way he said it.

As I said, translation is not the best, but those words has really been with me since. When going gets tough, don't let it get to you.. Keep pushing on and eventually you will ride the storm off.

    Damn it!!! *caught out*

So another one of my favorite sayings. I was really angry on one of the flights yesterday, because this woman just kept marching up and down the isle.
    I was thinking to myself..

If all the village idiots left their villages, and formed their own village - OF IDIOTS, in that village... YOU would be the village idiot.

Its from an Aussie comedic duo act.

I think the meaning is the same as my favorite quote - "Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f@#king beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. "

When things get tough, get up and keep fighting. You hear things like this all the time, but it means something to you when it is said with the right words, and sometimes from the right person.

Totally agree. Personally I waited years before getting my tattoo - just couln't find anything which would suit me for the rest of my life.

Then one day I came across the motto from Beowulf - Survival is Ruthless - That saying was so totally me that I knew immediately that it would be the one.

I did it a few days afterwards, gothic style letters enclosed in a circle of fire between my shoulder blades
