Default Reasons of sudden good rankings?

    Hi,
2 weeks ago we finally started to rank for first high volume keywords and our organic traffic jumped 8-times up to 100-150 daily. We still rank really good just for that 1 keyword and it variations.

So naturally there is a question: What we did properly?

Here are few thinks which we did. Please state your mind which do you think is the reason of our good SERPs.

    - we got some backlinks to this subpage but nothing which would look somehow special. Could one of those backlinks be special and make the SERP miracle?
    - we managed to acquire 1 link which wasn't special in terms of metrics but which gave us some real referral traffic (74 visitors). This traffic had good onsite parameters in Analytics (bounce rate 27%, average time 19min.). Could search engines notice this (they see the data as we use Analytics and Yandex) and give us points for onsite statistics?
    - we slightly changed our title to contain "2017" which is quite often used in search queries. We first ranked well on this keywords. Then maybe good onsite statistics (bounce rate 30%, average time 15min.) pushed us forward also for keywords without 2017.
    - any other ideas?

Whatever it is means you are doing something good so keep doing it=) The link with trafic is always good and perhaps you also created good content during this period.

    1) This may be what you did.

    2) This can be changes in Google's algorithm (they tweak their algo constantly)

    3) This is also what your competitors did (or did not)

    4) It can also be simply the effect of time. The more a site is "old", the more Google has confidence in it.

    5) This can also be a random effect. Many SEO think (and that's what I believe too) Google introduces a random effect to prevent webmasters from understanding too easily how to fake the system.

In conclusion, try to improve your site, try to make it the best possible for your visitors but do not obsess too much with Google.

It could've been any of the reasons mentioned. Did you disavow any bad links recently?

It is the link factor for sure in this case.

Check how many referring domains the competitors have to their pages that competes with yours in SERP.

Did you recently exceed their number of referring domains? What are the quality of the website source where you got the links from compared to the website sources where your competitors have links from?

The fact is that all the above stated things you did to the site all have a positive impact in one way or another on your business so keep using that approach, always improve the site for both users and optimize it for Google.
