Default Regulators force Playtech to abandon £460m bid for Plus500

Playtech has been trying to branch out into spread betting, and acquiring Plus500 would have gone a long way towards that goal. But it looks like it won't happen ... Playtech shares dipped 8% yesterday on the news.

... in a statement to the stock market yesterday, it said ‘certain concerns’ had been raised about the deal by City watchdog the Financial Conduct Authority.

Although Playtech did not specify what these concerns were, the FCA is thought to have been worried the firm does not have enough experience in the complex spread-betting market to resolve serious issues at Plus500.

That's bullshit "Does not have enough experience in the complex spread-betting market". They can hire professionals to sort everything out, because Playtech have money and stability.

Playtech also has a founder and major shareholder with a criminal conviction for insider trading or securities fraud. Teddy Sagi is what the FCA would be concerned with, not "lack of experience".

Playtech is good company from thechnical point of view, but they buisness style - below any critics. We may see this at playtech affiliate programs. They have patalogical ideas - to cheat they partners and affiliates, and all around. They never keep they words, and they unbelievable greedy.
