Report: Global online gambling market worth $41.4 billion

I'm still curious how can anyone can estimate these numbers without having all the infos from operators. I have a fair knowledge about how management consulting companies make up some of their numbers in grey areas and if this is true in this case then these numbers are less than useless. But intriguing numbers, of course, we would all like to have a bigger share from a pie huge like this!

These "expert reports" are a bit of a rort - and having a headline number with little to back it up is common in consulting fields.
The quality of research is as spotty as you might imagine.

I'm not sure how they've found 33% growth since last year - given the major events I can recall have been ones involving regulation and reduction of markets.

Definitely a pinch of salt in terms of figures, but year on year (especially in the UK) I can see a 'normalisation' of gambling into general culture. I'm only 34 but when I was 18 it was still a little bit marginalised and the footy accumulators type betting was just taking off.

Now it's as normal as anything else, I don't think there is the same stigma, it's just another part of the lad culture which is pushed hard by all those stupid 'Bible' type sites on Facebook/Twitter.
