She was an incredible woman. Such a bright and kind person - the best. We saw her in Malta and still can't believe it.
My condolences to all loved ones, this is a big loss.

Maria's husband, Chris, has created a page for charitable donations in her memory on the JustGiving website.

Donations are to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, a charity she was passionate about because her son was under their care for a number of years

How sad, only knew her briefly but she was one really helpful and nice person I have spoken to.

This is just such sad news. I never got to meet Maria, but can see from all the comments and videos that she was very much loved and kind person. I send my condolences and thoughts to her family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time...

I can't believe what kind of people left the industry and in this inexplicable and sudden way. Maria Florides was a woman combining her insane childlike even positive energy and enthusiasm with her unwavering professionalism. This made her a delight for people to interact and work with. Always kind, always responsive, and responding with everything she was capable of even if you knew her a little at the time. Rest in peace Ms. Florides and may your endless enthusiasm and positive energy light up heaven!

I often think of Maria, and, today especially, I am thinking of her.

It is hard to believe it has been six months ago today since Maria passed away and I had the sad duty of starting this thread.

I too can't believe it's already been 6 months now, without her. She was truly unique and was big-hearted. I get emotional at times when I think about her and how much I miss talking to her. She left us much too soon and it hurts to think about it. Life's not fair.

Michael, your words touched!

She was such a special woman, I knew her since she started in the industry I think it's about 13-14 years back.. I wish there were more people like her in the industry, everyone would then be happier and more relaxed!

One of the most gracious persons I have ever met, let alone worked with, was Maria. She will sacrifice anything—personally or professionally—for you. Without her, the conferences and the GPWA won't be the same.
