Thumbs down Roxy Affiliates retroactively changes my percentage

I'm really sad to have to say bad things about Roxy Affiliates since it was one of my favorite programs but what they did is just unacceptable.

Some months ago, they contacted me asking me to promote them and we set a fixed revenue share deal for my trafic, which come mostly from France. Everything was going fine and I sent them really good players. But just after they stopped accepting new French players, they sent me an email saying they would now switch to the minimum revshare percentage for my existing players. That's is not what we agreed for, they just cut off 10% of my revenues for no reasons.

It feels like they pulled a bewinners on me by retroactively breaking the deal I had with them. I still have some active players and a whale which bring them good money, and these last weeks I've been working hard to target other French speaking countries and bring them even more players. During the months I worked with them I only sent them quality trafic and that's how they reward me, by breaking the terms of our agreement?

My affiliate manager is very nice and she's been trying to talk with the upper management to restore my deal because she knows the quality of my trafic. It seems that the decision came from the upper management.

That's really stupid because I run big sites for the French market, which should be legalized in 2012. By breaking our agreement now, which is basically stealing 10% of my revenues, they shoot themselves in the foot because when the market will be legalized, I will never promote them again because I lost my trust in what I once thought was a great program.

It looks like the flood gates are well and truly open for casinos trying to pull these stupid tricks. Ethics cost nothing and Im a great believer in what goes around comes around - karma is going to bite these greedy affiliate managers one day.

You said you had a good affiliate manager looking into it for you. Would it not have been worth waiting to hear what they had to say before bringing it to the forums?

I have only heard good things about Roxy, although I am not promoting them just yet. This is why I am very surprised by this.

I already sent emails at the beginning of the month and spoke with my affiliate manager on the phone regarding this. It seems the upper management don't want to change their decision. Like I said in my first message, my affiliate manager does a wonderful job, she's one of the best aff manager I ever worked with, but it was not her decision. All the French affiliates are facing this situation, and believe me, we're all as surprised as you are, and losing money in the process.

It's been five days now I'm still waiting to hear from you. If you don't revert back to the revshare percentage we agreed with before the end of the month, I will remove all Roxy brands from my sites forever.

    Hi Phil

The holidays can be a very hard time for affiliate managers to get action from VPs or other high ups who are likely offline at the moment. I understand that you want a change to be made ASAP but you should try to see things from the standpoint of the aff manager, who may be working hard to get this changed but have to get sign off from the higher ups before they can make it happen.

Also, I want to say that Lee-Ann and the Roxy team are absolutely the kind of affiliate managers GPWA should be supporting and not flaming. It is completely unfair to compare them to a truly rogue program, for so many reasons. It's very important not to let this rogue program backlash become a witch hunt where good programs get flamed for small grievances, or the whole point of the movement will be lost.

Hi Louis! Sorry if the comparison seems a bit unfair but I needed to make a point here because I've seen too many bad things happen last year. Bwin wasn't a bad affiliate program before they decided to turn their back on affiliates, but it happened and I don't want one of my favorites affiliate programs to become like them.

As I stated in my previous posts, I have nothing against Lee-Ann and the Roxy team, they do an amazing job and they're the nicest persons ever. The decision comes from the higher ups like, and I wanted them to know affiliates are not happy about their decision to cut 10% off hard-earned revenues out of the blue. I don't think it's such a small grievance, especially since it happened before Christmas. Now it's January, payments will soon be sent and I will be paid less than what Roxy and I mutually agreed for when we started working together.

I love the gambling affiliate business, it literally changed my life and gave me a way of life I've never imagined so what makes me angry is seeing a whole industry going down the drain. Minus 10% here, changes of terms there, 15% here, shady mailers there, and soon the affiliates will have nothing left in the gambling industry. I don't want to see that happen, and especially with a great program such as Roxy Affiliates.
