At what age did people find their hangovers get progressively worse?

Although I was partying hard, at least twice if not 3 times a week, I didn't get a hangover until I was 25.

Boy, do I make up for it now though. Although I don't drink very often now, the hangovers are normally there in some shape or form for 3 days.

For me the only thing that really sorts me out is a soda - must be the combination of sugar and caffeine.

And a good old bacon sandwich or full english doesn't half hit the spot as well.

A hangover is caused by your kidneys flushing out not just water but salts, sugars, fats and amino acids from your body. So all of the things you list above are what your body needs to recover. A dietician told me that years ago and I swear by it.

The other preventative things I use when I do actually drink:

1 - powerade and panadol (paracetamol) before bed.
2 - BCAAs and a powerade before bed (amino acids and electrolytes). Not even a sign of a hangover with this concoction, even if you've had so much alcohol that you're almost on your way to the hospital to have your stomach pumped.
3 - McDonalds before bed. You could have any food really but maccas is my fave.

This is why the cops watch the McDonalds and Krystal parking lots every Friday and Saturday night after the bars close....

Most nights it's pretty obvious who should not be behind the wheel.

On my birthday I was pretty wasted (hadnt had any alcohol for 6 months and had about 9 drinks) and noone could even tell.
Someone asked me if I had even had anything to drink at the end of the night.

But yes, if you're doing a maccas run at 3am you are either pregnant, going for someone who is pregnant, or drunk.

Totally agree with you here.. Mcdonalds has to be one of the best following a night of '1 too many drinks'.

I made an amazing discovery with Mcdonalds this week. I found that dipping your fries into STRAWBERRY milkshake actually tastes delicious.

Chips and strawberry milk go perfect together. Who'd have thought?

Weird things like this seem to be happening frequently lately. The other day someone told me they dipped their chicken mcnuggets into a chocolate sundae and it was awesome.

I've dipped fries into a sundae before and wasnt a huge fan to be honest. Not even sure why i did it. I suppose when you worked there you want to try something new. (I worked there during high school)

I avoid hangovers like its the scariest thing on earth... I cannot afford the time to nurse one the following day and I get really sick and take days to recover. So these days, I behave and dont go beyond 2 drinks max...
