I googled - poker staking - and found that there are 200,000 results for that phrase. Not too competitive but still will take some time to crack.

These free tools usually only show keyword rankings if you're in the top 100 results, or something along those lines. It took me a year to rank in top 50 for any competitive words or phrases and I just made my first "top spot" a few weeks ago. Over 20 months of hard work to get there! And it felt GOOD!!

    Google ranks sites by

    • Age
    • Content
    • Meta/Title Tags
    • Quality of incoming links (especially 1 way links)

and many other factors we can only guess at.

Patience is a necessity in this biz.

I'll look at your tags and stuff and get back to you with my take on them.

Your seo score is perfect for your home page.

title: Poker Staking online By Get A Stake
keywords: Poker staking Get A Stake online poker, poker forum, poker strategies, poker bonuses, affilliates
description: Poker Staking by Get A stake an online poker strategy and bankroll building site

    Using seo doc mini tester:
I tested - poker staking - and got this result...
    Results: EXCELLENT
You scored a total of 40 points out of a possible 40 for this keyword! See Details below.

    My advice:
For http://www.getastake.com/ Write more original content and create individual pages for each article. (not forum threads!!)

Optimize each page for their keywords. Strategy articles or room reviews or current bonus information are always good starting points.

Try to get some inbound links to your home page.
I'll start you off with a link from my blog (PR2). That should get you a little google love

Leave your home page tags as they are... give it some time and you'll increase in the serps.

Try writing an article about poker staking. Make it relevant, not a fluff piece. Make sure you include a couple of back-links to your home page. Place it on your site (not your forum) and then post it on Digg. Ask your friends/mods to Digg it.

    Finally, for your forum;
Post a request for help with getting your forum more se friendly... vBulletin knowledgeable people will be able to offer more insight than I can.

I agree with Thepokerkeep. Think more long term. It takes many months to appear in the SERPS. Be consistent in your new material. After a solid year you should be doind well. After two you should be in the top competative placements.
