Thank you to everyone who participated in our Second Annual GPWA Member Poll. As we announced we would at the time of the poll, we have drawn three winners from among those that participated, and the winners have selected their prizes.
Congratulations to FictionNet, our first place winner, and a long-time member and active poster in the GPWA (3,936 posts to be exact as of the time of this announcement). As first place winner, he had first pick of the available prizes, and we are sending him a copy of Titanic Thompson: The Man Who Bet on Everything by Kevin Cook for his reading pleasure.
Our second prize winner was BigDaddy, also a long-time member, having joined the GPWA more than eight years ago. He selected Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones.
Finally, our third prize winner was laffit, one of our newer members, who joined the GPWA just about a year ago. We're sending laffit the book Cutting Edge Craps by Frank Scoblete.
Congratulations to all of our winners!
We've shared results from the survey in the 19th issue of the GPWA Times magazine that was distributed January 24-26 at the ICE Affiliate Zone and January 27-29 at the London Affiliate Conference (LAC).
Here is an example of information we published in the magazine based on comparing answers given in last year's and this year's survey:
I sincerely want to thank each and every person who contributed to our survey. We learned a lot about you, had a lot of fun, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. If you missed it, the thread about the survey is located here: Second Annual GPWA Survey.Positive outlook proves prophetic
Last year, our survey respondents had a positive outlook, with 74 percent saying 2011 would be better than 2010. And it turns out that 2011 was better than 2010 for most of those who could compare revenue year-over-year, (63.9 percent to be exact), with another 10.8 percent saying revenue was generally flat for them.
