Default should i add football news to a sportsbooks review site

is it a good idea to add football news content to a sportsbooks review site? I feel that the betting content is so limited and there is nothing to add, with seo competition getting hard I think that even if i don't monetize the football news content it will add more domain authority, or will it dilute my domain niche? is better to get into the football news to improve gambling-related seo or it will backfire?

Do you think you can maintain it? How many items can you post a day? 1,3,5 items a day?
A good news site would probably be a draw - but an out-of-date news site will reflect badly on your site.

Instead of focusing on general football news content, wouldn it be better to post betting tips? That's more in line with your niche and easy to update on a daily basis.

Good rich regular content should help your site, as long as you don't really intend to rank for the news itself I think the strategy will work. Perhaps focus on more niche stories too so your site is not just the same as every other football news blog.

As mentioned though you need to commit to the upkeep or it could end up having no impact.

@sneakyjager - you have to produce as much quality content as you can. If you are capale to deliver mote, just do it.
It will not be a bad idea to share your site here and many other people will share their opinion too.

Agree with Mattbar that 'narrowcasting' to a specific niche with your sports news content may get you traction sooner as opposed to trying to 'broadcast' all sports news across a wider area

thx for the reply, I won't rank for the news itself since that's over saturated, the objective is getting more authority to rank the betting content, i think putting in the effort blogging football news might boost my domain ranking over all, but at least it won't have some negative impact?.. I hope.

@drifter8 my site is: tunisiewin.tn a sportsbooks review site for small niche country, so you think that adding regular football content will help ranking my domain's money pages? i think it's better then doing nothing or buying links, but still hesitating...

thx for your reply, my market is small so not worth huge effort, but at the same time not adding content won't help... now i can putt the effort if it will pay off in the long rung what do you mean by "probably be a draw" do you mean no ranking boost?

    Sorry - for confusion.

I meant that if you do manage an active news site then it should draw people to your site.
But you do need to keep it up to date in order to achieve that. Probably daily - posting things 1-2 times a week is not enough.

If you do commit to adding news before you begin you should set out what and how much you intend to do. Having out of date content for people to see on the site is never a good thing, whereas seeing something about an upcoming game, even if they don't read it, will show the user the site is updated very regular and that should give them more trust in your reviews and other betting material hopefullly.
