Should we organise a chat?

Hi Guys!

I'm just wondering if someone wants to organise a chat maybe on a weekly rotating basis with the Affiliate Managers here?

The chat room functionality is there, so I don't see why we shouldn't use it to catch up on ideas etc for the programs?

I know that I'm in for one if anyone is interested in organising something.

Let me know what you think?

Hi Trish,

Actually, I was going to approach the affiliate programs about this very thing. We tried it before as a test type of thing, and it went rather well, though that time it was kind of a free for all.

I actually setup a room for this purpose in the chat section, and called it "the hot seat" LOL

By all means, we may as well go ahead and start scheduling now! What is your time there, like here where I am, it's -5 GMT.

That does sound like a good idea, Trish.

John, this would need to be planned well in advance of it taking place and there would need to be reminders to make sure that people remembered that it was going on. That way there would be at least a few people in the chat room at the time.

Trish, perhaps you could come up with a list of the top 10 questions you get asked most often that you can post in the session. That way people involved in the chat won't be repating common questions. Just a thought!

It does sound like a great idea. I like the idea of affiliate managers being available. Of course, notifying everyone would be certainly an issue and setting the time for same. John, you've certainly put your work in this but this idea does have merit.

One concern I would have is of course is time(ing) - all of us of course are busy trying to do well, etc., with our own sites, but I think if maybe a specific topic was pinpointed to be discussed by so-and-so affiliate on a specific date and time, its truly worth a shot.

Should be invaluable for both the affiliate managers and affiliates alike...and may have the subsequent effect of getting more involvement in the forum.

Be interesting to see which affiliates managers step up to the plate - could be a challenging task but I think very beneficial to all.

It was indeed, and it was informal, and just kind of happened. Imagine what planned ones will be like!

We are indeed following through on this. What I would like to see happen, is some "free-for-all' chats like the one we had the last time, then some more in depth program chats, with information more geared to what is going on within an individual program.

We'll get this going quickly and I'll let everyone know.

OK Guys and Gals. There are a great many things we can talk about. Shall we do this as a group effort again to start with? Then perhaps, drive it down to eventually meeting with individual programs? I would like to start as soon as Tuesday if we can, say, 9am our time time (GMT -5:00) which would put us I think, in a good position to get as many webmasters and managers in here as possible
