Default Shulman says he'll renounce WSOP bracelet if he wins

The November Nine is set, with Phil Ivey the big name making the final table. Another name that made the final table that should be very familiar in the online poker world is Jeff Shulman. Shulman is an editor at CardPlayer magazine, which used to have exclusive live reporting rights to the WSOP.

Those rights now belong to Bluff. Shulman told Wicked Chops Poker that he plans to throw the WSOP Main Event bracelet "in the garbage" if he wins the title.

    From ESPN's Gary Wise:

No player at this final table will inspire more debate than Shulman, the editor of Card Player Magazine. Shulman has stirred controversy with his claim he will throw the bracelet in the garbage if he wins it. "It has nothing to do with [Card Player no longer having exclusive rights to WSOP coverage]," said the 34-year old Las Vegas native. "It's about my lack of respect for the WSOP and the management here and what they've done to the players. That said I still wouldn't wear it if I was best friends with them. When I had a chance to win years ago, I said I wouldn't wear it. I'm shocked that people wear those ugly things."

So what exactly did the WSOP do to players that was so terrible?

What a showboater, if he has no repect for the WSOP, WTF is he playing it for?? I bet he won't throw the cash he has won in the garbage. Hope he gets knocked out 1st when they resume.

Side Note: I would love to see Phil Ivey win the event, he is way overdue and has so much class.

    Yea that is just STUPID!

I challenge him to at the very least, sell it and give the money to charity....

....and like Chips said, if he dislikes it so much what is he playing for? Maybe he should give all the money he wins to charity....

Yeah, why would he join the game just "to win and show off" if he hated WSOP so much. I think he's just leeching the attention he could get from throwing such controversial statement.

Got people talking about his brand, didn't it? Nice viral marketing ploy. What a schmuck!

Ditto, he deserves it more than anyone!

Jeff maybe talking about all the crap that went on when Harrah's took over, when it was run by Binion's the money taken for the house was much less per tourney, you got more starting chips in some events, there was a lot of bitching when Harrah's took over, it isn't the same.
