    Default Site Review- Bingo Affiliate

    Hey all,

I have had a great time on the site thus far, and have read some really good tips on how to make a site functional.

I am wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at my site and letting me know what I can improve upon. I am generally a content guy, so my design may be a little behind others, but I am working on it. My domain is www.onlinebingowinners.com

In terms of content, I have gotten some up there and am adding 2-3 pages of new content daily. I have only been up and running for about a week and a half, so that content is a bit bare (bit getting better too!).

Thanks for taking a look at my site. I appreciate it!

You site looks good. The design is simple but usefull.

On the blog page you have the full articles with a link to the article pages. The article page has also the full content. I would advise you to only post a teaser on the blog page and let people read the whole article on the article page.

Also post a news item as soon as possible. I don't like pages that are empty.

    Good luck with your website!

I like it a lot. Besides what boijoro pointed out about content. IMO I like the simple design and the logo. Easy to navigate and useful information so far. You have a nice site, good luck with it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I ended up changing the blogs to excerpts, giving visitors the chance to decide whether or not they will click through.

I am working on the news stories and hoping to make some real progress on a daily news solution here in the next week.

I am very happy you guys like the look of my site. I hope to keep improving it as it gets older.

Welcome to GPWA cyberfelt - I would try and utilise some of the white space in the header (perhaps adding a banner) and clean up the footer (I don't think you need links to all your pages there)

Simple website. I have few comments:
The pink background just burns my eyes.
I don't think that Welcome to... slide has any use. Better show promotional stuff instantly
To much bold on the text. Looks like spam.

    Good luck with your website

I disagree with the above onone point....keep the pink...very fitting for bingo.

I do agree though that you should have more content above the fold, in my browser I saw ZERO content without scrolling so it gives the first time visitor impression there is nothing but ads....

The design looks great overall. I would say you are not optimally using space with this banner:

You might be better off designing an image which does a bit more to push the user towards a desired action
(get the best bingo bonuses here, or read in depth reviews on the best bingo rooms, play online bingo now, etc..)

Also, the mobile bingo section could stand to get filled out a bit more

Hey Rick, thanks for the feedback. Can I ask what kind of resolution or browser you are using? I am running Chrome and I don't think my resolution is very high, but I still was able to see some content when I loaded. I am wondering how I can switch that up to accommodate more users.

At 1280x768 nothing shows above the fold except the slider ad and the right column partybingo ad. And in just the slider ad alone there is a wasted 100 or 150 pixels of whitespace at the top of each ad.

You could also chop off about 20 pixels or so on the top of the logo and another 10-20 pixels on the bottom if you wanted a little more real estate....

I just went and rearranged some of the head text in an effort to make the content show up a little better. I hope it ends up working out better for readers.

I really appreciate the tips you have given me, guys. I am striving to be the most successful affiliate that I can be, and your help really means a lot.

I personally think the changes you made today will be better for the visitors.

By having at least some text (such as your welcome) above the fold, the visitor is now given the impression that if they stick around you have something to say to them.

    Good luck and welcome.

Two quick comments on the design -
    1. the pink is very bright - consider choosing a different color that's easier on the eyes
    2. your logo is hard to read - consider making the wording clearer so your brand is stronger

Quick comment on the Reviews content-
Consider listing the bingo sites you review as a directory. Might be easier for users to access.

Great start but I have some comments that could really help:

    1. Reduce your logo even more - seems like you might have already done this looking at previous comments but it still needs to be smaller. Every pixel counts in conversions and at the moment you're not building a brand you're trying to build depositing players.

    2. Theres too much white space in the header. After you've reduced the logo stick a banner ad next to it and maximise the potential of the space.

    3. Tone down the colours. Although I think pink is good for bingo (my site is all pink) you need to tone it down. Think of pastel colours.

    4. This is a must do IMO - Your main call to action which I presume is the 'top sites' table is tucked away in the sidebar. Users will have to look for this and it will seriously have an impact on your conversions. Bring it into the main content area directly below the header, make the rows bigger and the 'visit' buttons bold and clear.

    5. Change the format of your visit buttons - At the moment the colour of your visit buttons are a similar colour to your section headers and navigation, this makes them hard to stand out. Since they are the most important button change the colour to something bright and different to other elements on your site. Also change the name of the buttons from 'visit' to something more inviting like 'Play', 'Play Now' or 'Sign up'.

Thanks Benji. I am going to see what I can do. I have been having a lot of issues getting my header space down, so that is a tough go.

I did go ahead and tone down the pink to a pastel color.

I am going to put some better call to actions in the visit buttons and put a chart into my main page. I agree that this is a missed opportunity and will be adding something in there.

Thanks for all of your advice, it is awesome to have such a great community here. I have noticed that my web rankings are going up as I add more content. The growth I am seeing in my site is great given that it has been online just less than a month.

Hopefully I will be able to help it grow and become profitable over the next several months.

Nice site, could probably do with a little tidy up here and there visually is my opinion, but apart from that it's fine. Out of interest are you using a Flytonic gambling Wordpress theme?

RacingJim, yes I am using a Flytonic theme. I found it to be a really good fit for me (the novice web designer).
