    Default Skrill and affiliate payments

Questions to those who are being paid via Skrill as affiliates. Do you have a "normal" account? Or were you forced to switch to business account (only if you are physical person). I know they forced some freelancers at Odeskto switch and I am afraid with recent KYC procedures, they will start switching even affiliates. Together with 20 Eur/1.9% fees on p2p etc they are goint to be unusable.

(They suck in many other ways and their affiliate program is pure crap as well.)

Just a private account (since 4 yrs.) in use ... with 8-15 incoming payment each month. Get never ask/forced to switch to business. I consider to change all payments to wire. Cashout the Skrill account becomes more expensive and complicated with bigger amount of money.
My personal recommendation: World-Class Hosting with WPX.net
TOP Speed and support, reasonable price!

I have same situation, I am starting to hate Skrill even more, because when you have problems you can't sort them and paying with different currency is getting bloody expensive. For example getting money in USD and spending in GBP costs you 2.99%, I will switch to wire as well I think.

Wire transfer all the way. Skrill is just a costly middleman if you ask me.

I would love 1.9%. They forced me to use a merchant account and the fees for receiving money are more like 3.9% with no upper limit. So I no longer use them unless there is no other option.

I agree re the affiliate program. It is nothing but an attempt to acquire the names and addresses of customers that they know are interested in gambling so that they can market their own affiliate links to them. There is no sense in assisting them with that mission.

They were hacked early this year and loads of people had money stolen too which they still have not publicly admitted. People who have taken their cases to the UK ombudsman have been reimbursed but forced to sign non disclosure agreements in order to get their money. This is a really slimy company.

The 1.9% is for p2p payments from October for everyone.

The 3.9% for receiving money is incredible. They forced you for the 3.9% only because you are an affiliate?

Yes. In fact we had an account that was not being charged fees and overnight they changed it without notifying us. I only realised it was changed a month or two down the track.

I have a personal account. I rarely use Skrill. Just their pre-paid credit card actually. I prefer wire transfers. I trust banks more than Skrill. 2 times I had some stupid security checks, which is annoying.

Have you guys tried to close the account and open a new one? It is completely legit and you have nothing to lose. If they force me to switch I will stop using them as well ofc. Still curious, because my account used to be a gambling account. I will bet a bit again and see if they want to lose me.

Have to agree with some of the comments regarding skrill. They are noted for using entrapment on guest payments (visa/mastercard processing), and by completing the process you have opened an account in their eyes.

To be honest, in twenty years in this business i've never lost my temper as much as i did with these people - I actually feel remorse for losing the plot with their legal department by calling them ''poor paid Bulgarian B.....ds'' who had nothing better to do than annoy people who were doing better than them. While i must admit to profiling people by nationality, it's no excuse to stoop to that level and i still feel a guilty for looking down on anyone.

However, in my defence, these people are not at all correct and i refuse to deal with them. In fact, i've turned away a lot of business knowing payment would be made through Skrill -- While pride is never an advantage in a ruthless business world, somethings are just not worth taking!

Personally, I use it in personal account.
In affiliation, they want to take our players with their links.

I have noticed that during last weeks Bet365 disappeared from their gambling offer. I guess no coincidence.

Sure - You may know that many websites allow you to use credit/debit cards to pay for services or goods. These are often powered by pay-pal, Neteller, Skrill - and they advertise you can pay using any of the following cards No Skrill Account Needed to pay. -- You will then proceed to pay like you do when using a credit card, and their will be a field for your Name and e-mail address. Click/send and the payment is accepted. Your credit card company has made the payment on your behalf.

Later you go to your e-mail and receive something like this (not exact words) - Thanks for trusting skrill. We take security very serious, and on occasions we randomly select payments for extra security checks. We therefore ask you to send a copy of the card you used to make this payment, a copy of your passport/identity card. And, proof of address - usually a utility bill from within the last three months -

You can best do this by logging into your skrill account using your e-mail address or by clicking this link. When you have supplied these documents, your payment will be released to blabla company.

It's pure entrapment and a total lie - but i've also had issues with them regarding my own (cancelled by me) VIP account -- Usually payment to my betting agent or vice versa. And, i've also had problems with betting companies that i've set up!

    Skrill are the ultimate nightmare!

    Thanks for your understanding.

I have a merchant account that I set up from the start. They are the absolutely the worst company I have ever ever dealt with it quite literally took 9 months of constant emails to get the account fully verified and unlimited. If you can avoid them then do so, I've been steadily switching all my payments to wire transfer wherever possible.

I tried to switch to business but it was a complete faff and the customer service for business is ridiculous (or non existent) trying to use Skrill less and less and have been switching to bank wire, much better...

The CS for personal accounts is a joke over tickets/emails. The CS for VIP at least answers quickly and it is possible to ask from the beginning over email. If you are a regular customer and you really need something, you have to call there. It speeds up the process with them a lot.

It is fun with Skrill! Just blocked my accounts. Asking me why I have accounts in other countries than where I live (as if they did not promote themselves exactly for that purpose). It is fun to imagine how it would be if I were an affiliate dependant only on those jokers. Or that I am stuck with their shitcard trying to pay for some goods.

Ok, blocked again. I am just using Skrill now to withdraw from 1xbet. I reverted all other accounts out of this company, but they can not handle even 1xbet payouts combined with worldwide flights.
