Default Slots is not so popular for Chinese

    Hello Everyone,
I just found this interesting article and wanted to share:
    http://www.scmp.com/magazines/post-m...-slot-machines

"Slot machines face a huge status problem in Macau due to what industry insiders call "cultural aversion". The table game is king here; in 2012, more than 91 per cent of Macau's gross gaming revenue was earned around baccarat tables.
"Will slots ever take over baccarat? I do not see that happening," says Jeff Ng Ka-chun, marketing director of Macau-based poker consultancy firm Kings Consulting."

Well at least this is the situation with land-based casinos, maybe with online casinos the situation is different

Well the % of Macau residents gambling in Macau compared to mainland Chinese is negligible, so don't worry about the Macau residents page

As for slots in Macau, they are definitely becoming more popular. I've been there in 2007, 2010 and 2013 and each time the slots were getting more action. However, baccarat will always be the game of choice, people dabble with blackjack, caribbean stud and 3 card poker to test the waters, but they all go back to the baccarat tables as that's where the most action is. It's crazy to walk through somewhere like the Venetian on a Saturday night and find it difficult to find a seat at a baccarat table when there are hundreds of them open with $75 table minimum.

You are absolutely right to guess that the situation is pretty much different with online casinos. And it is equally true that slots are not going to take over baccarat that easily.

I was playing the slots in Macau last week. One thing I noticed is the lack of variety! Row upon row of the same style of game, and all the casinos copy each other. I got bored to death.
