    Default Snapchat for your business?

I don't use snapchat personally, but everywhere I look online I keep seeing their little ghost icon pop up, normally on the websites and Facebook pages for online businesses. It seems to be especially popular in the sports and football online markets, with many big brands now promoting their snapchat profiles.

Does anyone use snapchat for their business? Or can anyone explain what it offers that other existing social media sites don't?

For business you can use it, but for iGaming i don't see the additional goodwill for it.

I use snapchat for my personal blog, I use it as a way to share my daily life/activities with my followers as it gives you additional content away from the edited pictures and youtube videos.

However in terms of igaming i find it would be difficult. However, you could use it as medium for exclusive content such as betting tips. What i see other people do i snapping about X and then saying - i've put a link to X on my twitter so you can get it too, that way you can follow up your tips with an affiliate tag.

I find it quite difficult to gain followers as people need to manually look you up and add you rather than just clicking follow, and none of your content is shared.

    Just my two cents.

Thanks for the replies. I'm covering football betting and that's where I've been seeing the upsurge in the promoting of snapchat profiles. I just don't see what it can offer these brands that Facebook, Vine, and Instagram for example, don't.

With snapchat being such a hangout for young people is it a simple case of them trying to reach that fresh new audience?

They offer the opportunity to send photos or videos to a person who can see it only a few seconds. They also have “My story” but it is the same as Facebook or Instagram has. I don't think that it will be useful to use Snapchat for your business. This channel is mostly used by young people to communicate with each other. For example, people on Instagram can see your photos or videos by used hashtags while Snapchat doesn't have this opportunity. So, you can reach less people.

    Hello PremShip,

Snapchat is more of a 'Social Platform' than anything else really.

I would certainly be using it to give my 'Social Media Advertising' a very good boost!

You can learn more about Snapchat on this web link:

    Good Luck to you!

Providing Access to Live Events is a very good one that you've pointed out here.

I never used Snapchat before, and used to tough that was 100% social, but maybe for flash private invitations for VIP players or something like that would be useful. I think it also depends in how trending or popular is Snapchat in your target market.

Having a Snapchat for your business is primarily useful in a more social/personal setting but I haven't seen it much within iGaming. You can definitely interact with your audience and be more present, just like any other social media. However, some other platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook) have the same features plus some more.

It may be better to stick to a couple of platforms and strengthen your presence on there than have yourself lost between a large bunch, with potentially the same outcome.

Of course if you're already doing great on all the major social platforms, it doesn't hurt to expand even just as a test if you're audience will engage on Snapchat.

Snapchat is great for promoting mobile apps, especially games when it comes to Performance marketing. In all other cases, it will be more of an image story.

Looking ahead, local market interest in Snapchat will continue to grow. But do not forget about competitors, the same TikTok is already much popular. Time will tell, but so far, in my opinion, Snapchat is definitely not in the top five social networks where businesses need to be present.

    • Snapchat is a social media tool that supports short, temporary sharing of photos and videos.
    • Businesses can advertise on Snapchat with traditional ads, branded filters and lenses or geotags.
    • When using Snapchat, be sure to make your content fun, brief and engaging.
