I know for social media to become relevant you have to be pretty aggressive with posting to the sites and stay active. At some point though it has to become almost like spamming the pages though I would think. How often does everyone post to FB, Twitter and Google+? Once a day, every other day, multiple times a day? I have been making sure I post at least once a week an dtry to do it at least twice a week. Is that enough?
I stopped doing it multiple times a day, twitter made me verify my account with a phone number. I started again with 1-2 posts a day, however I have been engaging people online besides just posting.
With twiter I post when ever I feel like it, you have to post alot to get noticed.
Facebook I post a couple of times a week max, or whenever I update a site.
Use Onlywire or IFTTT.com - takes time to set up but becomes a 1-click for Onlywire to post to 30+ SMM sites
I used to have quite a nice community going on one of my sites Facebook pages which had plenty of interaction that didn't involve a high ratio of spamming site pages. However it was very time consuming and I wasn't really rewarded for the time I put into it. Was a shame really but I had to tone it down, and now I pretty much just spam the page with my site links.
We usually post around 2-3 times a week for our 4 casinos. We post on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
Wouldnt that look a little suspicious having the same post on 30+ sites? I do see where FB and Twitter do allow you to sync up which I haven't tried yet though. For me, my FB posts can be longer than what Twitter allows so that could be a problem.Quote:

Put it this way. Nowadays FB does barely anything for us. Over 3000 natural fans, any update we make which includes a link to our site will be seen by no more than 2% of our fanbase. We normally get no more than around 30 clicks through to our site per day and that can be after posting 4 or 5 new articles.
It aint what you do it's the way that you do it. Never has this been truer than with Social Media.

If you only have one, or a small number of sites to maintain I would setup auto-tweets (Tweet Attack, TweetAdder or even Twitter itself) to post 1-2 tweets per day for a few days using a kw as content and hashtag. You'll be impressed with the results.
Use Analytics, Monittor, TweetReach and/or a URL shortener to track distribution, shares, retweets and actual reach. Raven has a nice combo tool for a premium.
Further to this I use IFTTT.com to post FB, Tumblr and a few other SM venues to repost.
Wordpress is great for all of this as there are plenty of automated tools besides IFTTT that will auto-post. I use this one - http://wordpress.org/plugins/onlywir...-share-button/, but I also tick the 'auto-post' box while posting.
Ps. And if this were the case Google (who owns Wildfire) wouldn't have developed apps that are specifically designed to do this.Quote:

Depends on what you're posting.
Some brands post up to 5 times per day and have an excellent engagement rate, just because it's quality content.
If posting automated things, it may be better to limit to 1 or 2 a day indeed. What i've been doing in some previous cases was (if content seems too spammy to be posted in a raw) to just create a best of and post list of 5 or 10 codes in 1 URL sent as the best of today's codes. Of the best news of the day for a media site, etc...
Somes tools allow you to test that kind of thing until you find the best ratio. Give it a try, go from 1 to 5 a day, and check your engagement rate over 1 to 2 weeks. SHould be able to notice some trends, days with more activity, etc...
I've got a simple question for the social media users ... especially the affiliates who are posting regularly ...
Do ANY of YOU actually use facebook / twitter et al. for your personal use regarding online gaming / gambling / or for recommendations?
I ask because ... just like you guys I am creating content and getting the notifications posted etc, but it seems pretty much a one-way street, to the point where much of our posts are actually automated. However, I don't actually read our feeds very often myself (just to verify its working), or use facebook / twitter for ANYTHING related to the industry at all.
I find that it's pretty pointless as searching is very basic and everything seems to be a very obvious affiliate hard sell. Just too obvious- I guess that's the problem with 140 characters and short facebook posts.
Don't get me wrong I use facebook for some contact with friends / football team mates ... and twitter for in-game match scores for local lower league games that are not covered on radio / tv ... but as far as affiliate pages go they're all awful!

Is there ANYONE with a twitter / facebook feed that they personally run that they feel is actually worth reading ?
Onlywire used to work for me like bullet. I was able to publish my message to more than 40 social networks at the same time but I stopped using it after Penguin 2.0 because I was bit concerned about Google Penalty.Quote:
