Exclamation Some assistance would be appreciated

    Hi there Guys

hope everyones week has been great so far!

Anyways, let me get to my point here.

Some buddies of mine and I have started a casino portal, mainly aimed to the asian market, the site is called Cassaon www.cassaon-casino.com

The site has been up for around 6months now (properly), and according to statistics at the various casinos we affiliated to, we receiving around 1500-2000 hits.

300 here, 500 there etc...and for some reason, we never get more than 1-2 downloads at these casinos...and majority of them not even 1...and so far, no depositors. Isnt that strange? I mean, it doesnt make much sense at the fact that potential gamblers click on the casinos but dont even download, never mind deposit!

If anyone has any advice for me, that would be much appreciated!

    Kind Regards from South Africa!

    Rick

    Rick:

It would be helpful if you were better able to qualify the statistics about your site. Following is some information that I think would be helpful:

First, you talk about hits. But hits are not actually a very useful statistic. If you have a page with 20 graphics on it, then one person viewing that page will generate 21 hits (one for the html page and one for each of the twenty graphics). The more important statistics are the total number of page views, and the total number of visitors. Most web traffic analysis packages provide that information.

Second, you don't mention a time period, so I don't know if you are talking about statistics covering a day, a week, a month, or the last six months.

Third, on the site you say you are targeting games for asian and UK players. However, if you look at the Alexa traffic information for your site, Alexa says:

Cassaon-casino.com users come from these countries:
    Israel 33.3%
    United States 25.0%
    Canada 16.7%
    Sweden 16.7%
    Serbia and Montenegro 8.3%

Now Alexa statistics are not necessarily that accurate, so I certainly would not take them as the gospel truth. However, the stated target audience in the introduction on your home page does not appear to match at all the actual visitors to your site. In my opinion, that is not a good recipe for a high conversion rate.

    Michael,

Many thanks for the speedy response to our post, the content of your feedback is noted and appreciated!

We will address the points mentioned and concentrate on our target audience as indicated by Alexa (although not to be taken at face-value!).

Concerning the amount of hits generated, the stats of 1500/2000 hits are visitors/unique clicks from the various casinos we're affiliated to.

We just want to congratulate for hosting an excellent forum here at GPWA and the professional advice you give to webmasters of portal casinos.

    With Best Regards

I'm still confused about the statistic numbers you provide.

So are you trying to say by 1500/2000 hits you actually mean:

    1. That many unique visitors to your site?
    2. That many clicks through to online gaming sites from your site?
    3. Something else?

Understanding exactly what you are measuring is important. Actually, measuring several different asspects of traffic on your web site is important. That way you can look at how distinct statistics are related to one another, and how those relationships change over time. For example, if your visitors are constant and your page views are going up that means something entirely different than if your visitors are going up in proportion to your page views.

Finally, in your response, you did not indicate a time period for the measurements, so the numbers are not that meaningful even if I was sure I understood what they meant.

Anyway, my point is that when looking at things from an analytical perspective, it is really important to understand what the analytics actually mean. Otherwise they are quite literally meaningless numbers.

    Michael,

    In answer to your question:
" So are you trying to say by 1500/2000 hits you actually mean:

    1. That many unique visitors to your site?"- Yes

In contrast to last month May, we have seen an exponential increase in the amount of visitors to our website according to the various casino's we're affiliated to. The last couple of months we've averaged about 600/800 visitors, except for the month of June.

To be more specific I'll include the various affiliate programs we're affiliated to and their casino stats to date:
    1). Fortuneaffiliates: 600 clicks/visitors, no downloads
2). Wagershare: 300 unique clicks, 2 unique downloads
3). Partnerlogic: 60 clicks, no downloads
4). Rewardsaffiliates: 400 clicks 2 downloads and 2 registrations, no betting players
    5). Focalclick: 40 hits, 2 registrations
    6). Barosh.net: 30 hits
    7). Europartners: 200 hits/visits, 1 download

I hope it gives you a clearer picture as regards to the stats/visitors we've generated to date.

    Cheers

So, I'd start by making sure that downloads work ok and are recognized for referrals from those sites that don't currently show any downloads. You should make sure you can download the software yourself, and that you are counted as having made a download. After that I would make small deposits to see if they also show up properly.

Clicks are not necessarily unique visitors. One visitor can click on several banners/text links from the same program group. Sort of like a customer shopping around.

I checked out the website and noticed the same thing. Your content is not in your target language. Weird, hugh?

    Hi Guys,

First of all thank you for taking some time-out to have a look at our website and posting some valuable advice!

I have placed some banners on our website to accommodate our target audience according to Alexa as recommended.

    Israel: 30% -Hebrew Banners(Barosh.net)
Sweden: 30% - Swedish Banner (Europa Casino)

Once again thanks for all your assistance!

    Kind regards,

    Cass

While Alexa can provide some information about site demographics, it is easy for it to be off by a bit, particularly for sites with lower traffic levels. To get really good information on that front, you need to use either log analysis software that provides geographic information on the ip addresses of visitors to your site, or a tool like google analytics (I highly recommend it - we use it on CasinoCity.com).

Then you will really have the information you need to do a good job on that front. Also, most ad-serving software will let you serve advertisements based on the browser language preference of the site visitor. That is the best way to select the language in which to serve advertisements.
