Update: another fake source, lifehac"k"er dot com
It's not the tabloid online "lifehacker[dot].com" but a fake host written with the russian "k" (different ascii code, so the browser recognize it as a different letter than the english "k").
Again, nothing to worry about. Just annoying, SPAM, ghost traffic. Don't be scared by the name.
have the same problem with my websites
it's a problem? or need to block? if yes how?
thanks
Nothing to worry about except for your messed up stats
Some top tips,thanks guys.
I have a lot of traffic from following bot: Language: "Secret.ɢoogle.com You are invited! Enter only with this ticket URL. Copy it. Vote for Trump!"
Any idea how to filter this bot from analytics?
The latest referrer spam I'm getting says its from blackhatworld dot com but of course its from Russia so is the same spammer. I wonder how long it will take Google to sort it out?
PS - I mentioned previously that I tried presenting a javascript browser challenge to Russian users and the problem disappeared but this was just a coincidence, it came back fairly soon. As people have said this goes directly to your GA and never hits your site.
Part of the problem with this latest round is that they are using the correct host name, so that method of blocking I mentioned earlier in the thread doesn't work.
As it's all from russia and we're UK facing we may just set a filter to ignore all russian traffic in analytics (russian visitors are traditionally a very very small percentage of our traffic normally).
Yep I was having the same thoughts, just block Russian traffic. Seems a bit strong though, but this is a pain in the arse.
Getting them with all sorts of referral strings, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit - all from Russia, Moscow and St Petersburg usually. Just pure spam.
I just looked into this more and it seems the majority of this Russian nonsense is from one guy and can be fixed with a language spam filter.
Explained here:

Seems to have worked for me, this bit:
How to create a language spam filter
To create a filter for language spam follow the same steps as the crawler filter above, just change the filter field to Language Settings, and in the filter pattern box enter the following expression as it is:
\s[^\s]*\s|.{15,}|\.|,

You can eliminate it from your analytics via a filter. You can also find the IP address of the domain and block it from accessing your website.
