Not to toot my own horn but this is something we specialize in, I dont think this thread is big enough for the entire betting strategy article so here is an excerpt and the rest of the article:
"Sports betting, as one kind of rational investments, consists of three parts of personal capacity: 50% handicapping power, 20% luck, and 30% mentality. The element that a sports bettor cannot control is luck, but if you have 40% handicapping power and 20% mentality with 0% luck, you can still be a 60% winning rate sports bettor."

What you are talking about here is Arbitrage - betting on both sides at different places - seeking odds that can lock in a profit.
Theoretically it is possible to do.
Practically, there are several things that mean that the profits are hard to actually achieve.
- the need to maintain funded accounts at dozens of bookmakers,
- the cost of moving the funds around to the bookmakers with the target price
- delays in receiving payment meaning delays in placing new bets.
- the limits sometimes applied to headline prices that might leave a "sure bet" exposed on one side or the other.
Sports arbitrage of 1-2% per event is possible, but there are risks involved that mean often it cannot be achieved.
Hi everyone I'm new here, I will like to give my advices of what I do. By now I bet only in 3 sports, basketball, boxing, MMA. In those 3 sports I have very good luck, in the basketball game(NBA in this moment) I wait until the playoff, most of the scores in playoff are tight one and you will find a lot of big points spread and sometimes teams are overrated. I won big time betting against Lakers. In boxing is a little more difficult but of you do a good research in the fighters and their styles eventually you will crate you're own system. My favorite is MMA(UFC) I always make the bet intermediately the odds are open, many times happen that you bet to a fighter that is even in the odds and near the fight he becomes a more clear favorite and you can save your bet making a small bet to other fighter. Yoy have to always look for different sportbooks for different odds.
I'm not an expert but I'm a regular winner and I just want to give my strategy.
I've never been able to achieve it. In fact the last time I tried it, was when qualifications of Euro 2012 occurred. For some reason bet365 had given out odds for Northern Ireland of 4.50, for a home victory. The away team was Slovenia.Sports arbitrage of 1-2% per event is possible, but there are risks involved that mean often it cannot be achieved.
An hour later or so, I got a message that I have bet on a game with "undecided" odds and that the event price has been changed from 4.50 to 2.40. I guess this would mean your are never safe, even when you have placed the bets.
I think the only time I actually got something out was on a handball game, and I got no real profit as I was just testing for curiosity purposes. To me arbitrage is more of a good theory strategy, but hard to apply.
I have also checked out most of sites online that offer tips on such games. Most of the time the odds are already different by the time you get to place your bets. I think you will be better off with full cover bets strategies.
Regards,
Agreed - I think at some point everyone looks at arbitrage, but then releases its almost like chasing the dragon. For me I found better value in becoming an expert on 1-2 teams, reading the news, player profiles, understanding everything about a team and its dynamics, and then placings bets on games those teams were involved in.
