    Hi Rick,

The latest one thebookiesoffers sent us was sent by the same guys as last time.

We have contacted them to order they stop sending, as their account with us is in any case no longer valid.

    Thanks,

    Sacha

What motivation would a company have for continuing to send "spam" that they are not being compensated for?

I honestly have no idea, but have gotten hold of the affiliate telephonically and have requested again that the mailing stop immediately and confirmed closure of the account.

Given that we're talking auto-emailers, it's easy enough to set up the emails you want to send in advance and schedule them. I've never done this myself (in fact I woefully neglect my newsletter at times), but I would have thought that people involved in this type of practice may set things up days, if not weeks, in advance. So even if the affiliate program shuts their account down, there's no saying that it'll immediately stop the spam flowing.

I can't comment on the issue of spam, but I will say that Sacha and the To Play/Lucky 247 team have been very responsive to player issues I've dealt with.

I can also confirm what Sacha stated earlier - To Play don't offer any preprepared emails.

I caught that after viewing his posts, the post in this thread dealt with thread content, and I am awaiting a response.

    Or maybe Sacha can confirm.

Looks like he was going through and resurrecting old threads to get his count up. When he got to 10 I noticed he stopped. That's when I reported him.

well read this then that I got emailed today -

Whilst I certainly understand your frustration, the truth is that all online casinos will always get spam complaints, both from their internal player subscriber list and their affiliate/marketing partners. I have been in the industry since 1999, and spam complaints, be they legitimate or not, are relatively commonplace. To say things haven’t been dealt with is not necessarily true as the senders are, more often than not, different – just like the last 2 you have forwarded on to me.

Regarding your question of banning all mailers, I’m afraid this would simply not make business sense. The vast majority of our marketing partners that utilise e-mail marketing acquire good volumes of quality players. As the world of online marketing has progressed over the years, the diversification away from simply having a website has accelerated unbelievably. We have PPC experts, SEO experts, e-mail marketing experts, direct mail experts, bloggers, and many more. Why would an operation intentionally sever one of its most effective marketing methods?

In terms of banning spammers, To Play Affiliates does have a Spam Policy in place, and we do respond to any, and all, spam complaints. There is always a difficulty in proving, beyond any doubt, that the complainant did not subscribe to receive e-mails from the affiliate, or from third-party marketing partners of the original mailing list. In most cases, we will request that the complainant’s e-mail address be permanently removed from the affiliate’s mailing lists. This is especially pertinent when we only receive a single spam complaint, such as your last two complaints sent to me. Is it safe to assume that, because we receive one spam complaint, the marketing partner is a spammer? In my opinion, I don’t think so. In some instances, we will receive a spate of spam complaints about the same e-mail, and this is obviously a much clearer case. In these instances and/or if the offending affiliate is non-responsive, we most certainly do take action and either withhold payment or ban them from the affiliate program until such time as we are satisfied that the complaint has been properly dealt with.

As an aside, I see that you have an AOL e-mail address. Are you reporting these instances of spam to them, or to a body like SpamCop? Or do you only e-mail the product/service which is being advertised in the e-mail?

    Regards,
    Lawrence.

Just goes to show I was correct all along, they have done nothing and are happy to accept spammers. So with this new information I will again request the suspension of this joke outfit

Does that truly read "We take spamming seriously but everyone is doing it so lighten up"?

Surely the spammer in question should be able to provide some sort of proof of the "double opt-in" and if he can't, then it is illegal spam - plain and simple.

yet again more spam comes through. So lets have a recap

They have emailers - even though said they dont

They dont ban spammers - even though they said they do

They have no checks for new affiliates - they never even answered that

They don't mind having spammers on board - state the obvious
