Default Sweden's gambling self-exclusion program surpasses 80,000 registrations

After launching three years ago, Sweden’s self-exclusion program, Spelpaus, has surpassed 80,000 registrations, according to gambling regulator Spelinspektionen.

Spelpaus allows consumers to exclude themselves from gambling with operators that hold a licence in Sweden. Once registered, a player must serve their full period of suspension before being able to gamble again.

    From Spelinspektionen:

The interest in suspending oneself from games is great and the number of suspended people now amounts to over 80,000 people.Spelpaus.se is a service where you can exclude yourself from all games that require registration with gambling companies that have a license to conduct games for money in Sweden. Spelpaus.se is an important part of the Gambling Authority's work with gambling responsibility.

Just before the summer, a new website was launched and then the option to extend an ongoing suspension was also introduced. Something that is still not possible, however, is to change or terminate a suspension prematurely.

And that keyword is targeted heavy by some affiliates. We saw that with other countries before. Nothing new I guess.

Yep, like in the UK for example. In my opinion the governments need to start blocking access (via ISPs) to the affiliate sites if they want to combat this.
