I know there are many different options regarding Telegram and Teams and all the other means of communicating. Personally I hate Telegram and always getting spammed to be "Friends" with all sorts of people, it is really annoying.

This was just sent to me that is good to be aware of.

I just read generic online security behavior. Not a word on the actual promised headline.
What idiot is sharing passwords or financial sensitive information via a messenger?

Thanks for the heads up. Telegram is a useful platform (especially since Skype shut down). Still, it's by no means reliable, and the recommendations in that article should be applied to other messaging apps as well.

Telegram is great for ease of use. I am not able to maintain SIM cards. I live where there is no mobile signal, so I always buy a new one with a new number. So I constantly lose all other accounts like WhatsApp. I am also constantly destroying and losing my phones and computers. But with Telegram, it is easy to carry the account from one device to another.

But the real gem of Telegram are the programmable bots that save me a lot of time, because it is easy to send everything to Telegram and push the necessary info there through my own server.

On the other hand, Telegram is "free," so it spies heavily. It reads what you write and gives you ads. It even listens to your microphone, I am sure, to deliver context ads. Any link shared is visited by a bot in the next second, etc.
