Default Terror alert for london raised to severe for next thursday

Those coming to LAC next week might want to be vigilant after this news just released:

Britain's terrorist threat level was raised tonight from “substantial” to “severe” - meaning that counter-terrorism agencies believe an attack is “highly likely”.

The measure was approved at a meeting of the Government’s Cobra emergency committee and announced by Alan Johnson, the Home Secretary.

The Times understands that the decision to raise the threat level is connected to the conference on Afghanistan taking place at Lancaster Gate, London, next Thursday.
    rest of story ...

I am getting on no bus or tube when i am there.

    Dont you mean:

Britain's terrorist threat level was raised tonight from “substantial” to “severe” - meaning that counter-terrorism agencies believe that London will be taken apart....

The measure was approved at a meeting of the Government’s Cobra emergency committee and announced by Alan Johnson, the Home Secretary.

The Times understands that the decision to raise the threat level is connected to the conference on Gaming taking place in Old Billingsgate......

London has been a target since the beginning of time it seems and it has never stopped the Londoners in their stride.

All this talk of "highly likely" to be a terrorist attack is really not out of the ordinary for Londoners, its just words used by Politicans.

London has been for god knows how many decades a target of the IRA followed by AL Queda.

Thursday will be just another day in London and the terrorists are just as likely to attack New York, Paris, Berlin as they are London on that day or any other day.

Can it happen? course it can but that dont mean that Millions of people wll not be doing what they do everyday in the Capital.

Of course we should be aware of the dangers and be vigilant, but in this day and age we all need to be that wherever we are anyway.

Do i have a blase attitude to it, yeah i do and you know why, for the very reasons i stated above, it is something we have grown up with for generations.

What will be will be and until that time i will live my life on my terms and not how others want to dicate it.

That said if anyone want to meet up with me in London, i will be at Churchills Bunker, just gimme a shout

Lancaster Gate is about 3 miles away and right next to Hyde Park, you gotta think that security there will be at its tightest, it will be elsewhere they will hit if they decide to.

Yes, we're a prime breeding ground for terrorists. We, the tolerant British, hold the opinion that it's a terrorist's Human Right to carry out his task, and furthermore that it would be racially discriminatory, and therefore illegal, to deny it.

We also pay welfare benefits to terrorists, in order that they're not encumbered by work and have no restrictions on the time they need to spend plotting. This is also known as a Human Right.

We are a tolerant, diverse, egalitarian and liberal people, us British.

    How you must envy us.

    Default WTF - Tabloids

... and English tabloids are saying it's not safe to travel to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup.

    What a fcuking joke.

Ps. Those of you that are travelling to South Africa for the football don't forget to purchase your "stab proof vest".

I wonder how much of this is true.

Letting your life being controlled by the media is getting old. I would have thought the US and UK would have learnt their lesson by now.
