Yeah i heard that South Africa is as safe as a kindergarten

I would go to south africa for a game but it would be a case of in and out, would prefer London any day of the week i have to say.

But its a fashionable thing now to do events in countries with crime issues

2010 South africa world cup (huge crime issues)
2012 London Olympics (serious terrorist target)
2014 World Cup Brazil (compares with south africa for crime)
2016 Brazil Olympics (Go figure)
2018 World Cup, probably UK (Again go figure)

Just waiting for the next destination that is chosen for a major event here is the betting

Yes why would anyone worry about going to South Africa for the World Cup

Don't believe everything you read. Sure we have crime and violence in South Africa, but most of the crime and violence you read about occurs in the slum areas.

South Africa has hosted numerous international events, for example, the Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup, Indian Premier Cricket League the African Federations Football League and numerous others without major incidents. The English "Barmy Army" have just finished up with following their cricket team around South Africa. Last year there were approximately forty thousand fanatical rugby fans that toured with the British Lions, again no major incidents.

Tourists don't have to fear coming to South Africa, but maybe South Africans need to fear the football hooligans from Europe rather.

Before you judge our country why don't you pay us a visit first and then you can write all you want to about South Africa.

The game parks are quite wild as well, you might be eaten by a lion. Don't go swimming in Table Bay, in Cape Town, you may be eaten by a great white shark, and there won't be any bits to send back home.

If the facts are wrong i am happy to come back and apologise

But to say that South Africa is not a country with a high crime rate is wrong.

Stats provided by the United Nations and Nationmaster among other sources clearly state that South Africa is one of the worlds worst countries for crime.

Just type in sexual violence in south africa in wikipedia , read what that says and then look at all the sources at the bottom.

If they are ALL wrong then i am wrong also.

Also type in Crime in South Africa and read what that says and then refer to the restaurant association of South Africa and their own opinion on crime and how restaurants are targeted.

Then look for quotes by your own ministers saying the police have a shoot tokill policy, i am sure he said shoot the bastards.

So please dont have a pop at me, i am not making this stuff up, it is facts that i have read and reported on, and again if they are wrong i will stand corrected.

I understand that one wants to defend their own country though dont get why Hazo is getting his knickers in a twist but sometimes you cannot defend the indefensable.

I accept that London is hardly crime free and have said so, i also accept its a terrorist target and have said so, just because i am from the UK does not mean i will defend them when i know for a fact i am wrong.
