Well it may just be me or maybe the wine I enjoyed with dinner but, the font size looks a point or two larger here. Ahh, prob. just the wine.

Chips you didn't have too much wine.

Michael, please investigate the option of allowing users to select their own from within their user control panel. Not a fan of the change and was happy with it before. for those of us still with good eyesight, smaller sizes means more on the screen and less scrolling.

With so many screen resolutions and sizes plus people's preferences, you will never satisfy everyone without allowing us to select our own.

Well, we did some experiments with font size earlier today, and currently have the font size set larger to see what people think about it.

We do recognize that no single font size will make everyone happy, and so we will look at what we can do on the front of supporting more than one style. But even if we do develop different styles, there will be a default style, and that will be what most everyone will use, so it will matter most that we do a good job on that one.

Anyway, please let us know what you think of the current size setting.

I was fine with the original font. This one is a lil big but if eases others that's fine too. Thanks to GPWA for listening.

I think this font is a little large too. I really like the font size and font type that cap uses in their posts. Do you know that that is?

I also don't like lots of scrolling, like Jarvi said. But instead of fixing that problem with smaller font (ick), I'd rather see the forum not be so terribly long (like I mentioned in my first post).

    Thanks Michael..

I think it's Calibri, maybe 12pt? Like I have in this post.

    Cool, larger font size.

I like Size="2" best of all. I'm not sure, but I thought what I was looking at just before I composed this post was slightly larger than Size 2. When I preview the post before submitting it, the font looks like Size 2. But back out on the forum, the font is like 1px or 2px taller than Size 2.

    Size 1

    Size 2

    Size 3

    I like size 2 also.

So tell us Michael, what is it at now? The default font name and size for posts here?

    This looks pretty good now.

I have to agree on the font size. I think something like Calibri 12pt would be fine. Seems to be the norm around some other forums I've visited lately...

I'd also like to express my extreme dislike of the width of the forum. I think someone mentioned earlier how hard it is to read. I have a 22" monitor too, and while I could just make the browser smaller, I dont want to.

In my opinion any passage of text should be no wider than around 600-700 pixels on a 1280x768 resolution (which I understand is the norm).. this to me is common sense in web design.

Imagine if you were reading a newspaper and instead of the text being in columns, it was spread over the whole width of the page. I doubt anyone would read them!

So not trying to be offensive, but this is one thing that has stopped me reading more here. I hope this is some constructive criticism (from an ex web designer).

    Thank you for the suggestion.

We have a section for this now. The section previously titled "Membership Inquiries & Contact Info" is now titled "Suggestion Box, Membership Inquiries & Contact Info".

And I've moved this thread into that new section.

Well, for starters today I merged four previous forum areas into one. We had separate areas before for Stolen Content, Spam, Scumware and Predatory Advertising, and Player complaints.

We've combined them together into one forum area titled "Unethical Behavior Reports" since they all share that common theme. Together before there were only a total of 400 posts in all four of these areas, and one had less than 50, so combining them together seemed to make sense to us.

We have been working on the public forums trying to organize them better than they were before, and although we have not done that yet for the private forums, we will.

That's awesome Michael! I really think that changes like the one you just mentioned.. make good sense and will help the forum.

When I first started reading about how to go about making my own web site, etc., one of the first things I read about design is to try and keep your pages from being too long, so visitors don't have to scroll and scroll. I think with the use of sub-forums, and combining some forums like you just did, GPWA can offer everything it does now, without so much scrolling.

Thanks for being so responsive Michael.
