Thanks to Greek... and all others

Hi all,

without getting into it.. I have issues about my life. living while others have not.

I just want to thank Greek for a reply I got .. (PM) .... and not just him.... because i have seen it happen here and in our industry many times.

today was one of those days for me. I wondered why i was alive ..... when perhaps others should be in my place.

I wondered about my worthyiness to exist. these are some days serious issues for me.

G: thank you. thank you for taking time to reply. for making me feel worthy.

I know there are some in our industry who are all about money. Some that would literally black hat..... call it what you want. ..... to cheat their fellow man out of their deserved earnings ......

yet at same time..... there IS proven that many in our industry are about ...... much more than money.... much more than taking advantage of their fellow man ..... much more than .....my words can express


I have said more than once that Greek has taken time out to solve problems for those (most times unable themselves) .... when he could have spent that time towards his own gain.


This is not the only person. Far from it. I have seen where many in this forum ..... (and at CAP) where people have reached out and ....... with no thought towards their own benefit ..... made a difference .... made such effort.


you see..... for some its all about money. (God knows many programs fall into this category and exact opposite for affs IMHO) ....

I have been in other online industries........ none compare to this.

We sometimes are given label of opportunists... etc.

I know that is so far off the mark. being smart enough to find a niche that makes money is not taking advantage. you're not stealing ... scamming or etc from anybody........ you were just smart enough to see a chance to earn a living.

today I had one of those days where i question my existence only to have it end in such a positive note.

I can relax for the first time today. I just felt it neccessary to make this post .... just in case others have ever felt same as I .....

yes there are blackhatters... cheating sponsers .... but THAT takes nothing away from those that are honorable..... those that reach out to others.....

I'm glad to hear things are looking up bb. With the stress and constant question for our future, I would bet many of us have fallen into despair. I am happy to hear you are feeling better.

Since I've known greek he continues to give and sacrifice his time to benefit others. It is what makes him our greek and it doesn't go unnoticed.

Thanks for the heartfelt post bb1. We are all human beings behind these posts and we need a lift and some support every once in awhile. I am also greatful for the GPWA and the folks here.

The relatively short time I've been on the board I've grown to respect the webmasters here for professionalism, courtesy, and respect for other community members.



I used to get bothered by the general sentiment from other webmasters that casino sites a "bad neighborhood" and "Don't link the them".

If we had to ride the webmaster bus to work we would surely have to ride in the back!

Now, I kind of like the "casino off limits" from the majority of webmasters. It drives up the demand for our services, which gives us an extra profit. It's kind of a public secret (Oxymoron I know).

Your pretty much the only one I've dealt with on a more personal level, and people like you that make me want to keep going.

While I am forced to agree with both of these quotes, I have to agree and disagree with the last one just a little (that's if I'm interpretting it wrong of course)...

I think there are a lot of affiliates too, who also fall into this category. In fact, in the last week or two I have seen some things that have truly broken my heart in this respect. I just cannot believe how two faced and unprofessional some people in this industry are for the sake of a couple of bucks, or the sake of backstabbing a mate in order to get ahead.

It's absolutely fantastic to see that affiliates in the industry support each other, especially at times that aren't so bright. I can say I've been in the dark times myself and if not for friends perhaps I would be in a different kind of light today. But it's those people that carry you when you're own legs are too frail to carry yourself, and that friendship is the one that will shine over any other 'relationship'.

Good on you guys At a time when support is needed the most you always see who your real friends are.

Poker rooms are the worst! but also there are more dishonest programs than honest ones.

would like to hear replies on that. because i truly feel that is the truth.

I have many years in the biz. and cannot and will not say there are not more dishonest affs than programs.


simple math would suggest that cannot be possible. but in regards to affs who actually send quality players ..... to programs..... yes .... I believe there are more dishonest programs.

I have in 7 yrs experience .. proven more than once that signups don't show up .... that deposits only show half of what was deposited and lost ... (if that much) .... and a simple search of my posts here and at CAP will make many of those points.

yes there is always an excuse . but excuses don't excuse the loss of literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Very true. I have not been around very long but have seen some who would rather leave a new person unnoticed than to answer a question based out of the fact that they are tehir competition...as if shedding a little light would actually steal a player from one to the other.

i remember being told trust no one, they will stab you in the back and if you have an idea either someone else has already thought of it and failed or the big boys will take it from you and use all their resources and out play you!

My thoughts on this is so be it! I don't care , if an idea is stolen another will surface, if someone stabs me in the back it's they who have to live with themselves. If I am honest with myself and others than that in turn will come back in time.

I will help anyone I can anytime I can.....if I can. I may ask the odd time for a link or whatever but it's not just about me.

I offered to do some work for someone at no charge because I know this person is going to do welll adn they are having a hard time getting off their feet. i do not want nor expect anything in return for this. I just know I found it really hard and still do at sometimes trying to make everything fall into place so why not lend a hand.

Every person here started out somewhere in the beginning. Maybe a little further ahead than other sbut oI dont think one person knew all.

Wth this each person has ahd someone/people who have guided them helped them and inspired them to be where they are. Everyone need to remember this and share it with someone else, it may not come back to you but in the end you can at least hold your head high with pride and self respect!

I was actually commenting on the way you guys treat each other. What I've seen in the last couple of weeks that I was referring to has nothing to do with anything mal toward me or us, I was just talking about the things I've seen between affiliates. The backstabbing and what not.

That's absolute bullshit.. (not you Kaus but the person who told you that). The best and most successful ideas come from a desperate person. I know that sounds harsh, but I believe that's how the philosophy goes. There are no rules to success. I believe in Karma though. The people who do the dirty to get ahead will find later on they are the ones behind. You should never not try something just because someone else might have thought of it already etc etc... Kaus I hope you don't live by that.. If we did I don't think most of us would be contributing to this discussion today.

Well let me tell you the unrealized true nature of bb. Approximately three months ago I was in financial ruin. I had exhausted all resources I could think of. I sold the house, the car, all while dealing with some severe health issues. This webmastering thing was just not cutting it. We were hurting and bad, as if it wasn’t enough losing what we did have.

One day my 9 year old son asked me “daddy why are you always on the computer?” He looked sad not only for himself but for me as well. He asked it he could help, and then asked if he could still play soccer this year? I had no real answers but it most certainly tossed me into reality. The reality is my talents lie elsewhere why not go back doing what I used to do.

Anyway BB came knocking and this what he did. BB a worthless soul I don’t think so.

I was deeply moved so was my son. Look at those smiles and isn’t this what life is all about? BB you are a stand up guy so please don’t ever question life. Life is full of trickery, broken dreams, be humble with whatever cards you are dealt with. Don’t get tangled in snares because I have the dam proof you have meaning and purpose. This my friend is something money cannot by.

No Renee actually I have gone to some of the larger affiliates, those who are by all means the cream of the crop when it comes to this buisness but I needed other resources to back my idea first prior to them jumping n board and helping.

Now if they took the idea and ran with it so be it. I am not nor will I ever beat myself up over something as simple as that when there are so many other things in life that are much more important. I of course would let it be known but wouldn't anguish over it.

I have done that before and nothing happens except more hostility and animosity.

Money can be such a beautiful thing to better yourselves and make your furture a little brighter financial but the opposite side of the spectrum is mean and hurtful and can make people do some really bad ****. I have seen this happen in my own life with my dad's death and watching a women who damn near raised you turn on you at the drop of the dime and not allow you anything materialistic because it may have value is sickening to say the least.

Life is precious and short and if you don't take full advanatge of it and dwindle on money and how can you get more than what do you really have?

I don't care about becoming rich or well off with this. I am here for two reasons when it comes to the money aspect side of it, to provide a headstone for my dad which we can not afford right now and his wife refuses to pay for and to ease us in our debt load. Other than that I dont care.

I enjoy this for what it si and it's a great learning experience. I have met some remarkable people to say the least and enjoying talking with them almost daily.

you can see who are the ones that are beautiful people and those who could care less so to speak about those beneath them in the food chain. They are the ones who will help you and take the time to either give you credit or honest opinons, they are approachable when it comes to questions and will be honest with you.

From what I have seen so far there are some that could give two shits about who they have to trample over to get to the top, there are affiliate managers who are some of the most arrogant people I have ever had the pleasure to talk to

than there are the AM's who no matter how few players you send they are still willing to help you, and make a plan for success (Ellen at Poker.com)

and the affiliates who give back in knowledge and friendship that they were once given to them. Ones where you can say " Hey I had this idea what do you think" and not only will they not steal it from you but will give you feedback on how to make it better...bb1 you are one of these people and I have only known you for such a short time and have found this out!


Anyway a very long response to what should have been a quick reply. As far as my plans, I wil keep doing what I do with the same intentions I had from the getgo. I know those who manipulate will have it come back to them 10 fold........and yes I do believe in karma!
