Question Are there any big events in the world of gaming that effect what you do on your site?

Last month in June the European Championship took place - a big event for those involved in sports betting. And this month the World Series of Poker is taking place in Las Vegas.

Casino City doesn't do much with sports betting, so last month wasn't special for us. But this month we're trying to do a good job of covering the WSOP, so we have our reporting staff in Las Vegas for two weeks. This enables us to provide up-close and personal coverage of the WSOP as shown in the 7 July 2008 Casino City Times newsletter we sent out yesterday. Normally they work in our office like everyone else.

Are there any big events in the world of gaming that effect what you do on your site(s)? If there are, tell us about them, and let us know what you do that's special compared with your normal day-to-day operations.

Casino - never. at least not yet.

Poker - WSOP gets some blog attention if a "named player" wins a bracelet and a bit of main event coverage.

    Sports - you bet.
    - European Football - From Euro 2008, through World Cups, and starts of the domestic season or during Champions League.
    - American Football - start of college season, bowl games, NFL football start and playoffs.
    - Baseball - during playoffs
    - Tennis - (Grand slams) Wimbledon / US Open / French Open / Australian Open

These events will get focus on site, in blogs, and through the forum.

I try to stay up to date on the events at sites but since I started blogging I find it is easier to slam a promotion out rather than updating content on inner pages (site reviews, etc). It appears to me that if I blog it there is better exposire rather than a change to the review page.

It may be that I am getting too big to cover all the promos from al the site. I do try to add something to the home page regular to keep up with staying fresh.
