Thief Copied My Site Name and scraped content

Some major asshole has copied my site name and title and knocked me out of google for several of my main terms. I have owned Casino Fan since 2000 and have put a ton of time and money into development. This thief is using machine generated crap.

I have complained to Google in the webmaster forum area. I have entered Spam complaints and still this bugger is sitting there in my spot. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Using your search, I saw your site in spot #26 and the pkhc site at #30.

Upon visiting the site in question I see that they have faked a Google results page and changed the links on the fake result page to be theirs.

I have seen this many times before and am shocked as to why Google does not react more swiftly in these cases.

Google's own logo and trademarks are being infringed in these cases.

I also filed a spam report.

Prof - likely take a week and should be gone - it doesnt take to long and you could also file a DMCA and contact the host to rip it down

Sorry to hear that Professor! It's happened to me so many times over the years that I just gave up on fighting it.

Now that I have my legal certificate of Trademark for GamTrak® LLC (as of this week) I'm drooling at the mouth to make an example of anyone that violate it due to the crap done to my legacy site since 2001.

I hope you get it straight soon.

Anyway content theft is wrong and immoral for those who live by code a of ethical principles. Who at times put others before themselves.

It is amazing how many folks try to get away with stuff like this. I do believe Google will handle it in whatever timeframe it takes them.

I also know first hand how frustrating it can be. If you can believe it, someone once registered the domain casino-city-network.com and then copied almost the entire casino city site unchanged to that domain. And in my case they were hidden behind a host that didn't care about the DMCA. Fortunately google did, and so without traffic they site was eventually dropped.

But this prompted me to see if the domain was still registered. It is, and it looks like I have a little investgation to conduct. That domain redirects to a website that is a GPWA approved portal.... Seems like it just might be that I should contact that webmaster.

Sadly, the GPWA endorses those type of sites all the time. A year or so ago I filed a complaint about a GPWA approved portal which was leeching off of one of my domains; after several attempts to make contact I finally received a clueless email asking me a bunch of meaningless questions. I believe I responded forgetaboutit - it was clear they didn't take my original complaint seriously.

If GPWA wants to approve portals they need to do a much better job of it!

I am just a webmaster and affiliate trying to support his family. I started as an affiliate in 1999 and I have gone full circle back to what I loved about this industry; being an affiliate. I have nothing to do with any community, show, magazine or webmaster related services. This wasnt my choice, but it's been done and I have to do the best I can to pick up the pieces of my life and move on. I promise I wont post often as I dont want to be a distraction, but I am still very much a gaming affiliate and GPWA is the only outlet I have.

Based on your implied disgust over the intent of this thread I have a question.

If I spent an entire week tracking down all those involved stealing prof's content and if they are GPWA members will there be vote for banishment?

No matter who they are or what clout they may have. The proof although not absolute facts, will be based on probabilities much like DNA.

I am curious because I hate content theft same as you. This is no commitment yet but am thinking about it.

Thanks for the tip Robin. I added five names to Ignore and it will certainly reduce stress levels and weed out negativity for the sake of negativity.
