    Default TivoliCasino.com - Shutdown ! ? !

I must say I'm a bit surprised by this email I just received from Tivoli Affiliates:

Communication from Martin Lerby, Tivoli Casino General Manager:

    Dear Affiliate,

It is with regret we must inform you that Tivolicasino.com will cease operations during April 2016. The exact date will soon be finalised and communicated to you at the earliest opportunity.
As we are committed to close down in a controlled and professional way, you can be rest assured that you will be paid all affiliate commissions due on your players referred, for the entire time that Tivolicasino.com remains live.
For any affiliates that promote the Tivolicasino.dk brand, this remains unaffected by the business change.
If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Karolina.filip@tivolicasino.com but we ask you to please be patient at this time whilst the exact details are being finalised.
Finally, we would like to thank you for your support and partnership with Tivolicasino.com.

The question of what will happened to all our players... still remains a mystery
Why they are closing down... no explanation

What a waste of quality traffic sent to this brand

This is another proof for all affiliates out there that even big operations can shutdown some day...

WOW ... made a good decision 8 weeks ago to dont start promoting Tivoli. Should be a hard cut for a lot of people including one or two affiliate networks.

It seems. Perhaps they're going to focus on regulated markets? It's all about volume. Licenses in Europa are quite expensive and usually just worth the money if you're having serious traffic in that specific market. More and more markets will be regulated. I guess many brands are not able to go for a license everywhere.

It might be the case, but since the .dk still live it looks like it's just a failed operation that wasn't able to profit because if they did they would start regulations process without shutting down...

If they focusing on .dk market so thats it, but if they'll start regulation process with the .dk after closing the .com and get rid all affiliates - this is just another scam

This is a bit weird considering they are a large organization in denmark. Does anyone have more information on why they would shut down so soon?

That was my question exactly to them and this is the reply I got from my AM

Indeed, Tivoli Casino are closing down its international operations. It was a hard decision that board members had taken having decided to focus solely on Danish market where Tivoli headquarters are based. Estimated cut off date for the .com site is 15th of April, thereafter all players’ accounts shall be terminated and any outstanding balanced paid in full. As far as affiliate commissions concern, your affiliate earnings will be paid in full up until the last day of site operation. We are currently processing March commissions, thereafter you will receive any outstanding earnings for April.

As it stands I don’t have any further information. There will be no migration as the site is being liquidated and MGA license will be cancelled, as it happens in this instances.

Should you wish, you can continue promoting Tivoli’s Danish brand tivolicasino.DK that will continue its operations with no changes purely in Danish market.
In that case I would encourage you to register a separate affiliate account so you can get access to the DK marketing tools.
    You can register from here.

Let me know if I may help further.

    Kind regards,

I think in the end just a few big names are able to compete everywhere. Others have to choose their battles. I guess it makes no sense for Tivoli to compete in markets where they have no player database and their casino doesn't ring a bell to people. Their product is too average to compete under this circumstances.

I do agree it's a crappy action towards affiliates. First you ask everybody to promote and than you shutdown. That's one of the main reasons that many affiliates are a bit careful with new brands. Especially with all that white label things.

Regulations also mean more costs and more opportunities to do marketing. It also mean that after some time the market share is what it is. Than brands are trying to get rid of costs and first thing on the board agenda is than affiliate costs. They close down programs, they limit lifetime revenueshare to a year of 2 years, they change revenue share into CPA, they lower commissions, they add quotas to their terms & conditions or brands just close down as it's not interesting to compete withhout market share in difficult markets with strict regulations and high costs (f.e. Spain).

By the way, I do not agree with this but it is what I see happening in regulated markets. A government usually is the problem, not the solution.
