Twitch bans affiliate links for iGaming..

"Twitch released a Creator Update on Wednesday August 11th announcing that the streaming platform will now prohibit all promotional links and referral codes for slots, roulette, and dice games. The new restrictions are set to take effect from Tuesday August 17th.

The move by Twitch to target the promotion of gambling products by its streamers comes following complaints from both viewers and anti-gambling advocates.

The Amazon-owned company has previously stated that it would closely monitor gambling promotion through its channels, but many of the platform’s top streamers such as Pokimane, Asmongold and xQc have weighed in the issue claiming that too little was being done to protect Twitch audiences from the effects of problem gambling."

This will add an extra bunch of cookie-cutter competitor sites to Google SERP because they'll need to create something to keep promoting their casinos somehow to make $. Unless they find another platform where they can carry on this "theatre".

The last sentence was the worst and disqualified the text.

The purpose of using crypto IS the unregulated market. There would be no unregulated market without crypto. Crypto is the freedom of money for good and for worse.

[Regulated] industry does not need crypto. Zero use case. Crypto is more complocated and masses still do not know how to use it. Legal industry is perfectly fine with legal tender and without affiliates.

Unregulated industry that is labeled is "illegal" (which is obviously a foul play that nobody is protesting against anymore) however needs and is based on crypto and connected to crypto. Also crypto gamblers - the small minority of more tech savvy consumers that is slowly growing - will not switch back to so called legal gambling, because while switching to crypto is mentally challenging, once done, it has only advantages like faster payments, less or no KYC, better odds, no taxes etc.

Well, let's see, today is the seventeenth of August.

Be curious to know how they are planning on enforcing it or if people will just try and get away with it as long as they can until they're warned/banned.

I'm not really hooked into the streaming world, has anyone that pays attention noticed a difference since the new rules came in?

Roshtein is the most influential Casino Twitch Streamer if i am not mistaken. He got banned for about 24h until he got unblocked again. These guys will monetize their Discord or Twitter i guess or move to Youtube with exclusive deals.
