I don't think it's much of a secret that opening up the US market would not only create jobs, but also create a load of tax dollars for the government.
Once they become a bit more desperate for funding, they will push this through.
Lots of red tape holding this one up IMO
I recently saw that article. The study was fascinating. It not only projected that the internet gambling industry would create 32k jobs, but it also estimated that it would generate $57.5 billion (in five years) in tax revenue for the US government. Previous reports projected is would bring in way less.
