    http://www.igamingbusiness.com/news/...mes-online-19m

As always the impact on affiliates is a big worry...

Hopefully they'll get the Stan James affiliate program sorted out.

I don't know much about Unibet - just thought of them as another European bookmaker.
What is it about their model that you love?

I dont like Unibet Affiliates. Why? Terms Changes: b) Unibet may change all or any part of this Agreement at any timetime(even without prior notice to the contracting party)
Negative Carryover retroactively applied to 3 commissions months and forward

Players untagged when deposit is not immediate
The Agreement shall be considered as automatically terminated if Unibet has to re-enter a market with a different platform / URL extension, and Eventscannot migrate its existing database of Default customers.

As you may assume I was speaking about Unibet Affiliates, but I wasn't as I don't have bookmaker website and don't work with Unibet as affiliate. All I can say I love how they developed over years, in like past 5-7 years. I was betting with them when I was back in Estonia, and now it is completely different product. Same with poker, even though they don't have their own player network and they use iPoker if I am not mistaken, they have developed a reward scheme, redesigned everything completely and made a better product. Their boots at affiliate conferences grew as well!

I often compared it to Ladbrokes which has money, but never properly invested into website and internet marketing.

They do have their own poker player network now, they developed their own poker software a few years back, very much aimed at the recreational player.

I hope that they will not close SJ and move players to Unibet.

Like attracts like lol. I know about the SJ problems around here for a while. Unibet's terms are as bad as they come. Perfect match I'd say, it's like they found each other on tinder lol.

19m seems like a tiny amount, but then they only made just over 1m profit last year ....

    Using that source ...

Unibet Group Plc has signd an agreement to acquire the online gambling division of Stan James Group in a deal worth 19m
    ...
In the five month period to 31 May 2015, Stan James’ online business generated revenue of 10.5m and posted 1.4m EBITDA after paying UK point-of-consumption tax.

So it might be fair to project revenue of 24m and EBITDA of around 3m.
6x profit seems OK as a price.

I'm quite happy about this. Yes, we'll have to see how they sort the affiliate program out but I'm happy with Unibet acquiring the gambling division. I believe Unibet are a good company to help the gambling division to grow further as they know how to attract people and have experience with this.

I assumed Unibet were horrible for affiliates.
I guess anything is a step up from Stan James though.

Nice to see them grow, I like their products - their poker software is something new and different, hopefully Stan James players will boost traffic.

They aren't great but much better than Stan James. As you said, anything is a step up.
