Maybe, maybe not, but at least they train for it.

They are preparing us for what's really out there...The CDC zombie campaign grew out of an effort “to spice up our general preparedness message,” added Ms. Silver. “We decided, why not give people what they want?”![]()
I am here to help if you have any issues with an affiliate program.

I can't imagine an ordinary-themed disaster preparation thread catching as much attention as the zombie-themed one, so I'd say this is a marketing success if the goal was in part to get people's attention for a moment. With the coverage of this being fairly widespread, I expect some of that attention will even prompt people to act by becoming a little more prepared for disasters in general.
Seems spot on in accomplishing the stated goal, being an "effective way of engaging new audiences."

I suppose they have to spice thing up every now and again in order to attract new recruits.
It gets people talking and, to be fair, can easily be transferable to a 'real-life' situation. ie. not that people are suddenly going to be eating brains, but any invasion?
Or is this my paintballing 'shoot-them-quick" instinct coming out? I would like to spend a day shooting 'real' zombies. LOL....
