Default Vera John - Intercasino Closing UK

Received the following from JPJ Affiliates:

We are sorry to announce that Vera & John and InterCasino will cease to operate in the UK market as of 3rd September 2019 (“Closure Date”). In addition, please be advised that as of today, 5th August 2019 we have ceased to accept new customers and the registration form has been disabled.
All commission generated and accrued prior to the Closure Date will be stored on your account and paid as per usual. No further payments or activity shall be made on this account after the Closure Date. The final commission payments will be made shortly after Closure Date
Your account will remain open following the brand closure and we would encourage you to look to redirect traffic to one of our existing programmes across Europe - please reach out to your representative to obtain further information. In the meantime, we would ask you to remove any UK facing marketing materials as of today. All remaining UK marketing assets past the Closure Date will be deactivated and users will arrive at a 404 error page.
We thank you for your efforts and cooperation with us to this date, and we hope to have the opportunity to work with you again in the future as circumstances develop.

That's crazy, at least this is not a huge loss for us.

Not a huge loss here either but it was only last few weeks they were asking for all this compliance stuff/documents and to fix reviews so that was a useless exercise

It is very competitive and expensive to operate in the UK market now, it is also very saturated. Not to mention the ever changing regulations, I expect to see more casinos follow suit.

More casinos and operators will close and terminate operations in UK.

with some many fines coming and stricter restrictions, no surprise that casino profits and interest towards UK will decline.

I am not surprised either, in view of all the fines the UK Gambling Board is dishing out left, right and center.
Eventually there will be no UK Casinos left as they will be too damn scared to do anything.

The UK Gambling Board needs to stop its witch hunt before there are no UK casinos left.
They say they are trying to protect minors, problem gamblers and reduce money laundering etc, but fact is that all of these are a minute percentage, but what about all the people they are putting out of jobs in the process? You can bet it is a lot more families losing their livelihood than there are problem gamblers!!!!

I think they are reasonable with how the industry should be run. However adaptation takes time and they should have more consideration for that.
Whether it's a minute percentage or not, people losing jobs because the industry is shrinking because it's no longer the Wild West and all goes... not sure if you can use that as a argument. Like saying the gun industry will suffer in the US with increased regulation and ppl will lose their jobs, and only a small % of people are shot every year...

Been saying this for that past 2+ years, both here and at AGD...

The UKGC have made a total balls up of the UK igaming industry. It's over regulated, over taxed (21% of GGR is ludicrous) and frankly, IMHO we'll see a lot more casinos etc., leave the UK. Because thanks to the UKGC, it's a chumps jurisdiction now.
