Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry that this is my first post here in years, but......

Due to failing health, I've decided to sell VideoPokerJunkie.com I know it's a horrible time to sell, but I'm not in a real rush and will entertain offers.

In its "heyday", it was cranking $20K+/month, but I haven't really worked on it for a few years now. It was still limping along until QT pulled out of the market, which pretty much destroyed its income.

I will transfer most of the aff accounts with the sale, so when the US gets its head out its ass, it may take off again.

Payment will have to be made to PayPal or PaySpark (can we do transfers there?).

Questions so far......

1. How much do I want for it? Honestly, I have no idea what it's worth right now. I barely keep up with the news in this industry these days, so I don't know what websites are doing. I'm thinking I might get an appraisal for it, if anyone has any suggestions?

2. How much is it making right now? Since QT went down, it's only managed to make $500-$1000/mo, and that includes my CasinoRewards acct, which I'm not transferring with the sale. For the months prior to that, when I was trying to work it a little, it was doing $1-3K/month.

3. Traffic Sucks! As I said, I haven't really worked on it for several years now. It's been making a living from its customer base.

VPJunkie has a customer base, (but no mailing list), so I feel that with a little updating and getting the newest casinos posted, that it would do better.

VPJunkie has always had a fairly good conversion rate with extremely little overhead - as in under $200 a month, even when I was buying traffic.

I have not courted the Euro market as I should have. I have not gotten new casinos up as I should have.

I know it still has the potential to make a good income (even in this market) if someone puts the time into it that it needs. I haven't listed any of the Genesys casinos which would probably do well on VPJ, and I haven't kept up with the new RTG casinos.

Everytime I come into the GPWA website, I think of you. You really started something wonderful in the GPWA and I appreciate what you've done for affiliates. I started in this business shortly after you did and I still remember bumping into the GPWA. I joined immediately and it helped me a lot.

GPWA helped me tremendously, also, although that wasn't the intent when I started it. I just wanted a central info-sharing site for us portal owners.

I am a lot like Denise - when i come onto here i often think about you and VPJ . In those days i was a Aff Manager and we did some business together. The GPWA helped me to learn so much about the industry and the web and for that i will always be grateful.

Instead of selling it Cynthia why dont you let me help you with it. No strings attached. Its an old site - over 10 years old but only has 56 indexed pages. Lets have a chat and see if there is something that can be done. In this climate i dont think that anyone is going to pay a decent price for the site.

Thank you all for your warm thoughts & wishes. GMan, thank you very much for your offer of help - what a selfless offer!! I wish I was up to taking you up on it.

I have end-stage COPD, so there won't be any getting better, but whether I'm here another 2 months or 2 years is anyone's guess. I've just gotten Hospice set up to help us out here at home as I have good days & bad days. And I'm fortunate enough to have 2 people here to help me on a daily, moment-by-moment basis - my Mother & my best friend who came to visit in her RV a couple of years ago, and isn't leaving until this is done.

I know don't have the time to wait out the US on their dumb legal game, but I have every faith that when it gets straightened out, VPJ will come back.

I've ordered an appraisal at this point, so we'll see what that comes back at.

The appraisal I ordered was from Sedo, and I didn't realize they were going to appraise only the domain name, so that was no help.

I need a reputable website appraiser - anyone know of one?

I am so sorry to hear that you aren't well. The GPWA's webmasters owe you a huge amount for all your hard work in the early days of the GPWA. I know that you certainly helped me out an awful lot when I first arrived here a over decade ago (yikes, it is scary to think it has been so long). I don't think the GPWA would be here today without all your effort in those early years.

It was lovely to meet you in Connecticut at the GPWA Retreat all those years ago. I have often wondered how you were and I should have got in touch before now. I am so sorry to hear that you have been struggling with ill health and really wish all the very best of luck.

It is sad to hear that you are selling VideoPokerJunkie.com after all this time. It has certainly been a tough few years and this business is much harder than it ever used to be. I hope you find a good buyer for the website. I am sure you will find someone to step in and keep your baby running with the same passion you had for it.

Ok, per Dom's link - http://ebizvaluations.com/ - www.VideoPokerJunkie.com is valued at $24,860, and that's using a monthly income of $1000 for 126 months, which is about how old VPJ is. Actually, it'll be 11 yrs old in December.

I was trying to get their widget posted here, but can't get the board to take the script. For anyone that's interested, let me know what you want to see, and I'll make it happen. Also, I'll probably try some other valuation sites, too, to see what comes up.

Sorry I haven’t been here for a few weeks, but being sick is quite time consuming & tiring!

So…. I’ve finally arrived at a sales price of $12,000.

eBizvaluations-dot-com valued VideoPokerJunkie at $24,860, and that was with a higher overhead than I actually have. Here's the link http://ebizvaluations.com/archive/report/19109 if anyone wants to see their valuation.

If I use the 12 months of current income method, it would actually price out above the $12K (based on YTD income), so I feel like I’m being more than fair using the absolute current rate of income. (It made about $1200 this month, but I haven’t checked all my stats yet.)

- VPJ’s current income is an avg of $1000/month. The first quarter of this year it was making $2500 - $4500/month. (However, I’m taking 2 of the most consistently producing accounts. I have 2 Casino Rewards accts, and I will be taking the more productive of the 2. I will also be taking INetBet & Fortune Affiliates with me, altho FA hasn’t made any money in a long time, so is not included in any current income figures.)

- Current overhead is $25/mo. for hosting, and that’s it. I might buy another $25-$50 in traffic, but not every month.

- Domain renewal is due in Nov/Dec. If I haven’t sold it by then, I’ll be renewing it for 10 years.

- VPJ is a well established site at 11 yrs. old. This is not a young site with no real history of success. VPJ has produced income every month since its 3rd month of existence, with a low of $300 (twice) and a high above $30K. For many years, before US interference, it made low – mid 5 figures monthly.

- Comes with all affiliate accts (except for the 3) & existing customer base.
--- I have active customers at some of my casinos that have been there over 5 years;
--- I have customers that still write me once in a while that have been with me 7-8 years; I’m pretty sure they’ll be there when new casinos get added.

- It has some existing link sales on the front page.

- Traffic stats are very poor. I have not worked to keep it well ranked in Google (or any other SE) in over 6 years. Its rankings could probably be improved very easily. I can’t post links, but for those who are really concerned about traffic, I can give you access to the stats. I must add, tho, that anyone who is really focusing on the traffic stats is not seeing the big picture with VPJ.

- VPJ has always had higher than avg conversion rates, and I will pass on what I feel are my marketing tips/secrets to the new buyer.

- VPJ is done in FrontPage. Although its marketing concepts are still effective, it’s a technical dinosaur and definitely needs an over haul at this point.

- It has no mailing list and no link exchange pages. I dumped both of those several years ago. I was really tired of the stupid link exchange game that Goog tries to force on all of us, but I was wrong to dump my mailing list. It had worked well for me.

- It has a Twitter acct. I think I only have a couple of people who have signed up, but if the buyer wants @VideoPkrJunkie, he/she can have it.

- I am very confident that with updating & adding the newest casinos, it will produce income regularly for you. When the US comes back online with gambling, or another good ewallet opens up, the income will definitely go uphill.

Im certainly not rich - but i have been watching this thread. I do not know Cindy but can see she is well known by many old timers here.

Like some other members in the past who had health issues and were struggling - I would not mind helping out if someone would like to organize something.

Of course Cindy that would be up to you - so if your stuck I am sure the GPWA community will help out as a team where ever we can.

Ahhhhh, Joey.... you sooooo silly boy! You gave me a giggle right off the bat this morning! Glad to see you're still kicking around!

Hospice is to help me out with stuff at home, so I don't always have to go out to the doctor when I need something like blood tests, etc. An additional benefit I wasn't aware of is that they cover all my meds & equipment for free, which is VERY cool. Without insurance, my meds alone were running me $1000 - $1200/month which is a heavy load. Of course, hospice'll also be here at the end, to keep me as comfortable as possible. Because of the nature of COPD, that could still be a few years away. Or not. We'll find out, huh? My heart is very healthy, so unless I get sick, I could go another few years.

Financially, I'm fine. I get full Social Security Disability (gov't monthly income for disabled people) since early this year, and Medicare (gov't medical for seniors/disabled) now, so while I can't spend like I used to, I'm ok.

Your welcome Cindy - My Dad also has the added diagnosis of COPD, along with 3 forms of cancer, and CHF(congestive heart failure). Considering everything he still does well IMO when he takes his medications. He has a special breathing practice device that has improved his condition a bit. I am not sure whats it called though. I hope you continue to do as well as possible!

Wow, your Dad really has it piled on when it comes to sickness, huh? So sorry to hear that. I'm fairly young (54) to have COPD this bad, but it's the only thing wrong with me physically. (Hell, I don't even have any arthritis yet.) My lungs are under 30% of normal function at this point, tho, so that's what qualifies me for hospice. I hope your father hangs in there for a while and gets the help he needs.
