Default vinism an "expert witness" at PPA event in Mass.

Our very own vinism, who is likely too shy to boast about this here, will be serving as an "expert witness" in an event hosted at Harvard Law School by the Poker Players Alliance tomorrow night.

Here are the details sent to Buzzy by the PPA by e-mail ... congrats and good luck to vinism!

From:Randy Castonguay, Massachusetts PPA State Director (MA@pokerplayersalliance.org)

Come join me and PPA Executive Director John Pappas in attending an interactive discussion with journalist Vin Narayanan regarding the Massachusetts Casino Gaming Bill hosted by the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society's Harvard Law School chapter. This event is open to PPA Members.

    Date: Wed. February 20, 2008
    Time: 7:30pm
    Place:
    Pound Hall, Rm. 100
    Harvard Law School (map)

Mr. Narayanan will serve as an "expert witness" for the Harvard community, providing an objective view on the intensely political atmosphere which has surrounded Governor Deval Patrick's attempt to legalize Massachusetts' first three casinos, and allowing for informed debate on the pros and cons of the issue.

Mr. Narayanan, who has worked for USAToday.com, CNN and Capital News Service, has been covering the Massachusetts Casino Gaming Bill story and will give a briefing on the political atmosphere that has surrounded the pending legislation, including the bill's controversial provision that would criminalize individual citizens for playing online poker.

We hope to see you there.
    All In,
    Randy Castonguay

Exellent vin. Many people may not fully understand and it should be a great event. Freedom is a big issue here.

I would love to go watch you in action! I just spent 5 days in Boston at Childrens Hospital with a family member. I will be unable to attend unfortunatly. It is interesting to note that Childrens has effectively blocked "gambling" from it's wireless service. I was able to come to the GPWA but I couldn't access most affiliate stats and definatly no casinos. As it should be of course. There are other ways to protect our loved ones other than criminalizing everyone.

    Go get 'em vin!

Thanks Buzzy. Thanks Mojo. I appreciated the kind words. John Pappas is a pretty sharp guy, so this discussion should be fun. I'll post about here Thursday morning. Hope your relative is doing better Mojo. You're right, though. Technology has advanced so far that there are much better ways to protect minors and problem gamblers than criminalizing everyone.
