Default VIP Profits pulls plug on Canadians, new U.S. customers

Just picked this up off the VIP message board. They have stopped accepting deposits from all Canadian players and will not accept any new U.S. players.

    Dear All,

The future of VIP is faced with more challenges and I need all of you to read the following...

As you are probably aware, recent changes in the e-commerce landscape have caused many online companies, like our merchants, to adapt their offerings in this fast paced industry.

    US Customers
Effective immediately, all VIP Profits merchants will no longer accept new customers from the United States . Long standing premium customers have contributed to our success over the years, and we intend to increase our service commitment to them - exclusive focus on preferred customers.

    Canadian Customers
VIP Profits merchants will no longer accept deposits from Canadian players effective immediately. Canadian customers will maintain access to their account until April 1, 2007. Any current balance in the account may continue to be used until that date, at which point any remaining funds will be refunded to the player and their account will be closed.

    Payments
As a result of recent events, our merchants are being forced to deal with new, less experienced payment processors with less advanced systems in place. As a result, data regarding charge backs and returns is not being received in a timely manner. These events have caused a delay in processing your commission payments for January. I am happy to let you know that these payments have now been approved and are with our finance team to be sent to you. You will be receiving these payments over the next 10 business days, depending upon the method you have chosen. At this time, we are planning to begin clearing commission payments for February on Monday, March 12th.

    Increased Charge Back Rates
The international banking environment is fast changing, and merchants are experiencing increasing charge back and return rates. Affiliates should be aware of this as you monitor client activity moving forward.

Our merchants continue to be global leaders in online gaming, and look forward to working with you to recruit new clients outside of North America in the future.

Yea, I saw that thread on CAP. I had Rebecca, one of our account managers, ask one of the affiliate managers and he confirmed they are still accepting US players. I can do a little more digging and see if I find anything else out. Then again, VIP was completely shocked this morning and had not idea it was coming.

I've been a solid supporter of VIP over the years. This really hurts. I am so upset with the management I can't see straight. I was never a top affiliate, but made enough the past couple years, especially with Nine. VIP treated me well primarily in exchange for the assistance I provided their forum.

Rumors surfaced last month that VIP was closing after the superbowl. We were laughed at, saying this was rediculous speculation. There were extended delays on payments - and after reading the CAP thread, looks like we were fed a bunch of crap as to the reasons.

And now, without warning they pull the US and Canadian market. The reason given - "recent changes in the e-commerce landscape have caused many online companies, like our merchants, to adapt their offerings in this fast paced industry". This is total crap as evidenced by Casino Coins casinos not being affected.

Frustration. That about sums it up. It seems as soon as we decide where to take our sites, another nail is put in the coffin.

This was one of my largest income earners and this is going to hurt. What annoys me more than anything is that the affiliate managers were claiming until now that they had no intention of pulling out of the US market.

I have about 100+ websites to update.

Very dissapointed. And what the hell is up with the Canadian players. I know casinocoins was based out of Toronto but I thought they rectified this. I'm assuming the owners are still Canadian.

I guess the only thing good out of this whole mess is that I dropped Nine when it joined with VIP - my gut told me it was a bad move and I told Simon at Nine as well.

As far as I am aware Casino Coins is indeed still accepting US players at the moment.

The Casino Coins forum here has been put on hold for the moment pending the routine renegotiation of their status here. This is the case with a number of affiliate programs with forums here. A good proportion of them are currently re-signing agreements to participate in these forums.

Casino Coins has indeed been difficult to contact recently and the regular changes of affiliate manager have not helped. If I get any news on them I will post it here.

Why are they not accepting bets from Canada? I have not heard of any new laws that have been passed in Canada? I do reside in Ontario, and am still able to place bets on almost any online gaming site.
