I would imagine that pulling the handle of a VR slot machine would become monotonous pretty quickly. Imagine how much of an idiot you would look like doing something like that. Besides it's just not that entertaining.

I think within 3 to 5 years VR casino's will probably be a thing. The VR headsets are allready quite cheap but imagine it without a headset. I might be wrong though but if you compare VR to the first mobile phones and the smartphones of today i reckon it's definately something not to disregard.

I'm always mystified when people think that someone would rather walk an avatar around a virtual space (i.e. a casino floor) trying to find the game they like - as opposed to just using a search box, then one click and they are done. It is less efficient and pointless replication of the real world for no real benefit.

I think VR will have to be a lot more imaginative than that if it is to avoid becoming the next 3d television set.

That's true, but of course it's just very early stages. I assume that when people will be able to play a slot, see another person win on the slot next to them, sit on a real looking blackjack table with real dealer - then it will kick in.

100% No .. I dont believe it will be its a great advert for technology but needs a lot of work .. I got kicked on my ass playing a boxing game at ICE and was so confused bu the experience that i walked away feeling a bit let down and i feel that online casino players will feel the same it will be mind blowing to start but will wear off very soon

I tried one at one of the conferences last year and I walked away and almost threw up. I don't get motion sickness so it was a bit weird for me. I didn't like it at all.

I find it interesting that both complaints of not feeling well after using the goggles were women....

From my perspective virtual reality is an interesting thing for gambling - because as soon as a decent amount of players will have that kind of device, they could use it for a "virtual casino", too.

There are already some fascinating 3D slots out there that give you a great experience, but i am still wondering if those do actually improve the GAMBLING experience. Here in germany the most played slots are quite boring standard 5 wheel games without any big features.

Let's see what future brings, maybe there will be an unique advantage with VR for live casinos (that is the only thing where i really hope VR brings improvements)

There have been some decent points on both sides and I think VR will be really good for the RPG side of gaming, where the player is immersed into a "virtual" world assuming the role of their character. In this case the fantasy is assumed and part of the game.

When a person gambles....for real....and pays real money, and expects to win real money, I am not sure they will be willing to accept the fantasy part....maybe they will but I kinda question that.
