    Lightbulb VR industry vs Covid-19

Hello, colleagues! Do you think the online industry will jump into the future because of this planetary pandemic?

"Oculus Quest has been selling out in some regions due to high demand. That said, like other companies we're expecting some additional impact to our hardware production due to the Coronavirus. We're taking precautions to ensure the safety of our employees, manufacturing partners and customers, and are monitoring the situation closely. We are working to restore availability as soon as possible."

It seems to me that the world's population will develop VR technologies and in the near future we will see a VR casino where you can play and chat with players.

Of course, everything always starts with porn)! But I believe in VR in the gaming industry.
    Thank you for your opinion.

Like that people will go out in curfew and buy HW now?
I remember 20+ years ago I was at some cool IT exhibition, they had the same glasses as they have it now, and they were telling me that VR is the future.

I believe so. Along with Charles de Gaulle: "VR is the future and and always will be".

While it wasn't VR, there were a couple of casinos in the early days (circa 1999) which provided, a 3D like experience. At the time, they were pretty impressive. But, it really didn't catch on, and they closed.

SlotsMillion developed and have a VR casino operating as we speak. Though TBH the clips on youtube featuring the SM VR casino, look crap... Certainly wouldn't motivate me to lay down cash to purchase the hardware need to play it... It really looks cheap and nasty.

No idea of the uptake on that, but you don't hear people on CM and such saying how great it is, so I'm guessing it isn't that popular. Besides, you need a reasonable decent PC, to run a VR headset. So over and above the PC purchase, there's the cost of the VR headset itself.

With mobile being the #1 choice these days, followed by tablet, I can't see gamblers who don't have a PC, rushing out to purchase a PC, and VR headset to play at a VR casino, when they seem more than happy playing online, already.

I respect the opinion of each of you! Thanks for the thoughts, I really believe in virtual reality, but I look at the world soberly, now mobile traffic is growing rapidly, and now it is more than 75%. However, imagine that you do not need powerful devices to install a VR headset. Smartphones can now pull powerful toys, and enough to get budget glasses like Panasonic or Google. And the era of virtualization will begin to transfer users to their sweet realities)!
In any case, each of you, trying to plunge into it, wants to be there!

Maybe a properly anti-COV isolated VR headset would be interesting. Something like kill all enemies with a real feeling and do not see the dead people around you.
