Hey guys...
I want to become an affiliate but wouldn't know where to start.
What's the best to go with and how good is the income?
Any help and guidance in the right direction would be greatly appreciated...

You start by building a website, creating content, signing up with programs, including links, and publishing the pages.
Then there is all the rigamarole around running a web-business, accounts, taxes, Search Engine Optimisation, Social Media ...
That depends on your interests, your fields of expertise and your enthusiasm.
Sports, Casino, Poker, Bingo, Forex, Binary Options, Fantasy Sports, Horse Racing. International or US intra-state?
Choose something that interests you and your website will have a better chance of becoming a busy place.
It can be very good (six figures a month), not so good (a couple of hundred a month) and everywhere inbetween.
It depends on your skills in generating traffic and content, and maintaining your enthusiasm.
Tens of thousands attempt it every year, maybe a thousand make some money, and a hundred or so make good money.
It's much like the GPWA membership in that regard, apparently it has thousands of members but ther e are only a couple of hundred that actually login and contribute to the knowledge base.

Some people underestimate this business... they think it's a case of adding a site.. a few articles.. backlinks and voila.. easy money.. it's tough, and if your new it's even tougher.. but it can be cracked, if you are willing to work hard

I want to be a spaceman - Could anyone tell me what i need for an engine and what kind of fuel should i use?. Last but not least, anyone want to sponsor it?

It's incredibly tough competition in the gambling sector, go super niche and write about stuff you enjoy.
You'll probably earn nothing for a long time

I've stopped bothering with these, "hey I'm new, how do I be an affiliate" threads. Gooner has been great with his response and it's very useful, but I think, why should I give out the answers? I had to graft and read round a load of websites, forums + my own long experience. I never once came on a forum and went 'so guys, tell me how I should do it'. Jeez. How about go to Google and search round and read up. I don't mind answering a bit more in-depth questions but these ones just get on my nerves.
If you can't be arsed doing the ground work or even using the search function on this very forum, then I aint got time for you. Yes I'm a miserable git, but yes you know it's true. People who want it handed to them on a plate will get nowhere in this business or any business.
Type 'How do I become an affiliate' in Google and read the top 20 answers. Try the same with gambling affiliate. See you in a week.

Yeah nothing is easy money...so definitely not looking for that. I'm just looking to add to my income, even if it's not much each month...every bit helps...![]()
Thank you RacingJim...I never once asked anyone to give me hand outs...just tips and guidance...that's all. And not once did i say I wasn't willing to put in the effort and do the work!
Decide on what you want to promote. ie. casino, poker, sports, bingo, etc. Decide on which markets you want to target. Join a few decent affiliate programs, build a site and promote, promote, promote.
I would learn affiliate marketing with some less competitive niche as it will take long time before you earn anything in gambling niche and it can kill your inspiration. Start with easier niche, grow your knowledge in affiliate marketing and then move to gambling niche.
The most important start is to find a niche you have a real passion for because affiliate work requires a lot of time and effort and if you do not care for what you are doing you will loose steam very quickly.
Good luck!
It's not that easy as it looks. You need to think how much are you willing to spend to launch the website, you need to read loads about SEO and content writing (if you don't want to pay others for that). It will take you at least 6-12 months to earn your first dollar from affiliate marketing.
Wish you all the best and as people said before, spend some good time to analyse the niche you want to work in (pick the one you love the most), and get a decent domain name!![]()

The biggest problems in affiliate business aren't related to the P/L statement.
For one, many people - even those who are making some money - are finding it difficult to make the transition from having a day job and "making a decent second income" to being a full-time affiliate. Many are stuck here. It's a catch-22 kind of thing. In order to make money you have to leave the day job, and if you leave the day job you won't have money.
So what do you do? Most wait "until the aff business picks up" and refuse to leave the day job, therefore condemning themselves to mediocrity.
You got to be in it to win it. Otherwise don't bother, and spend more time with the family instead.
