Hi Guys,
it seems that 99% of my site visitors ignore banners by default.
is it banner blindness? or deliberate actions?
Are banners untrusted by visitors?
Would be happy to get your ideas

Try adding a large animated banner with lots of $$$ signs and bonus information and see if it gets any clicks.
Banner blidness - can be. Adblockers are also in the game :( It´s right, that propper banners can do the thing, I see in my stats, that some banners CTA is ex 0,4%, but I have also banners which are 2,5%.
I suspect we've moved well past the point in time when a flashy banner is enough to convince a punter to join without any supporting content. Even if a prospective punter sees something interesting, how many search for a review/more info before pulling the trigger?
I wonder if the programs themselves have any real idea how their banners are performing either. Vary rarely do I take the code for a banner from a program and dump that straight on the site nowadays - more often than not I end up hosting the banners myself in some shape or form so as not to impact the site speed etc. Where possible I use generic links for a brand for ease of updating so again the program will lose the ability to tell whether a certain banner produced the click.
I click on maybe one internet ad a year. And I think quite a few people are moving to stuff like adblock.
I get quite a lot of banner clicks, I suppose it's what type of content is on your site, if they didn't work no one would use them
The "Click Here" button rules.
Thats the way.
I think there are some reasons, at first Adblocker. It depends by a lot of demographic and geographic factors but there are 15-35% (statista.com) users with active adblockers. Banner blindness of course. And third reason could be the huge part of mobile devices. Lots of websites using a right sidebar to place banner ads. If you browse with smartphone, you have to scroll a lot to find this ads ...
I try to place clear CTA´s in good positions. If you want to use banners, maybe add some text and a button/CTA under the image. Don't use, scrips/iframes but host the banners by yourself (to avoiding adblock problems) ... if you send the clicks to Netrefer casinos don't use target _blank for same reason.
Adblocker is not the reason. I am having anti-adblockers ofc, but majority people even now do not use it. And we are now reaching even post-adblockers era, because soon everybody will block users with adblockers.
Yes, we are in post banner age. That is it. People learn how to ignore it. Try looking at CPM banner prices. They were at 0.XX USD now at 0.0X USD.
Yes people do not care, we do not care too. Only affiliates programs still act like that banners are the core of the affiliate business.
