Well known, high-volume poker players organizing PokerStars boycott
Professional poker player Dani Stern is spearheading an effort to organize a three-day boycott of PokerStars from Dec. 1-3. He's already had commitments from several top pros, and some industry insiders are speculating that upwards of 2,000 players could boycott PokerStars starting tomorrow. The boycott also stipulates that each player withdraws at least some money from their PokerStars accounts.
Here's the link to the Two Plus Two thread outlining the boycott: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...tests-1569711/
The boycott is in response to the latest move by PokerStars to make changes that objectively have negative consequences on professional and high-volume players at the site. Story here: https://www.gpwa.org/article/pokerst...rollers-215138
It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, this boycott has on PokerStars' policies with regards to high-volume players going forward. This boycott might not make a dent, but there are reported to be future boycotts planned after this one.

But this is what they want! Stars are trying to get rid of the pro players and make it more rec friendly. They will probably be delighted over the walkout.

Which point are they protesting?
The one that limits their VIP points to 30%, or the one that said PokerStars would block all 3rd party trackers?
Both seem valid business decisions - PokerStars can set up their room any way they want.
If they want to make harder to use trackers - and have a flatter structure for their rewards then they can.
I understand that this will make it harder to earn a professional wage at PokerStars ...
But providing full-time employment for players probably isn't PokerStars aim.

So they want to cause a run on withdraws? But are they being honest about the possible bad outcome of that?
Did all those supporting and pushing this boycott heavily already withdraw 100% of their wallets?
It's like a run on a bank, those who start the run usually get ll their funds, those at the end of the run usually do NOT, get limited and often lose part of their deposits.
Even though I doubt this will cause small players to lose their deposits, I wonder if at some point it will cause PokerStars to be forced to limit withdraws for a short time which could have some long term effects "trust" wise.

PokerStars spokesman Daniel Negreanu weighs in ... just watching the first few minutes, and the big takeaway is that:
1) The changes were absolutely necessary given the nature of the poker economy
2) Revoking the Supernova Elite promise in 2016 is a broken promise, and that is unacceptable in his mind
