Default What is an acceptable time to reply to an email or Skype message?

What do you think is an acceptable time to reply to an email or Skype message? Opinions differ here.

I think everybody should be able to answer an email within 24-48 hours and Skype within a couple of hours if the person is online. It works so far for us, but I keep hearing stories that some people don't get an answer for several days or even weeks.

If the communication doesn't work smoothly, then it doesn't really make sense to work together. That's my opinion

To a webmaster. For a usual customer everybody should have live chat support.

Yeah 24-48 hours. I have emailed hundreds and had replies from about 0 i think. So it's not even a time thing, i think the majority of webmasters just don't care anymore.

Which is why those who are hungry will do very well over the next few years i think.

I have a rule to not leave meaningful stuff without responses, if I have some spare minutes I will always try to respond asap.

    Good question!

If you're asking about AM's then i think the quickest replies get those biggest affiliates as this is what makes casinos the most money.

I bet all others get often ignored/forgotten and they don't get replies at all or with a long delay.

To me such attitude is unacceptable. I think partners are the partners and they should treat each other respectively and no matter if one is small or big.

In my opinion, the time of reply and also the email quality means a lot. This allows me to judge and determine who I work with and their attitude towards me.

One day for an email reply is a perfect time for me. Of course, I understand we are all human and anything in this life can happen.

However, I'll take Betsson as an example, they always reply to me within this time and their answers are exhaustive.

So, if guys from Betsson can reply in 1 day, it shouldn't be a problem for others to do the same, especially small companies.

24-48 hours is the longest time that someone should reply to an email. I believe it is totally unprofessional not to respond in that time span.

Depends on my work load. Sometimes I will do it in real time. Sometimes, it could take 2 weeks.

Is my staff working or did they **** something up? Did Google change tactics on me? Did I meet a gorgeous 20 year old on the beach recently?

Obviously, always try to respond ASAP

Truly agree with you. 24-48 hours it's completely enough to check the email and reply to it.

Agree, 24-48 hours is more than enough. If I have not replied I appreciate a reminder as it may have fallen out of mind, we are all busy and appreciate the fact. I always will reply to e-mails. It is really annoying when people don't reply to e-mails after numerous attempts and/or not replying to skype messages when they clearly indicate that the message has been read.

Not replying to e-mails/messages is a good signal of the type of relationship you will have.

The response time is always an indicator of interest. If anyone does not respond, it is always a valuable info that the person does not want to communicate. I do not have a timeframe, but when really big money is at stake I expect 24/7 instant communication (not over spyware called "skype").
We are all bloodsucking ticks, hungry, devious
each one latched on to the ass of the previous
when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own

It's never anymore than 48 hrs maximum for me. I would assume that it shouldn't take all that effort to respond to someone! I never wait anymore than a day to reply back to anyone through Skype and emails. I would also expect a realistic timeframe of much less than a day if it's anything urgent involved.

This is actually a very good question, which may seem like a simple one at first! The timing should definitely not be longer than 1-2 business days. I usually will respond the same day unless the mail comes in the evening.

I apply this to all webmasters I communicate with, no matter how big or small. I think it is best to treat them all the same, it is good business practice and shows them the level of respect that you would also wish to receive. Of course, a timely response is useless if the content of the email is rushed or does not contain the response they are looking for, so this must be taken into consideration. It is better to wait some more time (within reason) to make sure you answer everything concisely.

    This is an interesting question.
There is a time difference, so for Skype I expect to receive a reply within a half day, and for email, within 24hours.
If I don't receive any replies more than 2 days, I gently remind them with the matter I have reached out.

I would say normally when you are interested or just to show respect, should be same day but I understand if you take 48 hrs that seems to me a decent time to respond ....

It really depends on the country and your personal afifliate manager. I know many affiliates who never get a reply form Betsson...

As for the question in general it really depends, unsollicited "Yo buddy we want to work with you and have the best conversion in the industry" as a first contact is binned instantly by me.

That's true. A lot depends on the right affiliate manager. If some people change from one to another day all can be other.

If somehow the skype username of the intended recipient is listed public, it is possible that people might start spamming it due to which there will be many contact requests and notifications pending and your message might also get lost in it. This has happened to me earlier due to which I changed to a new skype profile.
