Default What do most people use for Domain Authority?

I stopped trying to work out DA's when Google gave up PR (A long time ago lol)
Whats the industry standard nowadays. Is there one?

With the age and traffic you have Patmcluk, any measurement of authority as applied to you will at best be pointless, at worst complete b****cks

Yes, I've tried a couple of free DA Checkers and they were wildly different!
I'll just accept talk about readers and PV's. I just wondered if anyone bothered with it any more.....

Well there are definitely some that do...but I would suggest that a fair number of them do so because that's what they've been told, and they stick to a hard and fast rule with no deviation (even when common sense dictates otherwise)....or they just don't think ' this site gets a lot of traffic, it's x years old, clearly filled with unique/valuable content, and the search engines like it cos they rank pages' Pretty daft, right (in the majority of those type cases, anyway)!!

DA is the moz term. Other software use different things - for example, ahrefs has DR, semrush have an authority score etc...

So if you're specifically talking about DA then that's moz. Also tends to be the one most people use (for whatever reason).

Personally I don't care about these metrics and they're mainly used by people selling, brokering or (some people) buying links much in the way that page rank was banded about back in the day.

Also very easy to manipulate (just like page rank was).

Your AHREFS domain rating is 37.
It says you get almost 100k visitors per month from organic search.

If I were you I wouldn't give a damn about what the score is, you obviously have great traffic.

Also, I just looked at the top of your link profile, you have some wonderful backlinks. I am quite baffled how your DR is only 37.

Oh, well, if you sell links, you can probably get more attention/money from some people, if you have an inflated DA/DR etc...

I use ahrefs however it can be gamed, via old brought domains with new content and some other tricks that you can by at fiverr.. its not perfect but combine it with other metrics and you can get a good idea on how the site really is --- keywords, organic traffic etc

I general the number itself doesn't matte that much, although if you have a high DR / DA then you will be a more attractive target for whoever is buying links and will be able to charge more for it, if that is something you are going to engage in.

Rather than checking DA / DR it makes more sense to check what links actually build up that number - whether the website in question is being linked to by relevant and good quality websites.

I don't worry about those types of metrics. Besides, only because a site is DA 20 one month, it could be 40 the next. Kinda like the good ol' PageRank toolbar as mentioned above.

Even the estimated traffic in these things can be way off.

Exactly. Checking traffic exposure doesn't hurt either.
